The Candidate (Rudy Giuliani in NH)
The American Spectator ^ | 1/29/2007 | Philip Klein

Posted on 01/29/2007 1:36:27 PM PST by Dark Skies

Many skeptics continue to question whether Rudy Giuliani is serious about making a run for the White House, but it was abundantly clear on Saturday that he had come to Manchester for more than the sub-freezing temperatures.

Addressing over 500 activists at the New Hampshire Republican Party's annual meeting as part of a two-day swing through the state, Giuliani sketched the broad outlines of what looks like a presidential run. Sounding at times like a motivational speaker, Giuliani cautioned against cynicism and pessimism in the wake of November's election results and challenges in the ongoing War on Terror. The message especially resonated with the audience in this critical primary state, where the Republican Party just lost control of both chambers of the legislature for the first time since the 1870s.

"The best way we remain safe and we retain our freedom...is remaining on offense, remaining strong and not becoming weak in a time of pressure," Giuliani said in a line that drew the biggest applause from the crowd at the Palace Theater.

OK, we're calling you on this one, show us the links and data that substantiates those pitiful accusations you just made.

When Congress enacted immigration reform laws that forbade local governments from barring employees from cooperating with the INS, Mayor Rudy Giuliani filed suit against the feds in 1997. He was rebuffed by two lower courts, which ruled that the sanctuary order amounted to special treatment for illegal aliens and were nothing more than an unlawful effort to flaunt federal enforcement efforts against illegal aliens. In January 2000, the Supreme Court rejected his appeal, but Giuliani vowed to ignore the law. The Twin Towers are gone and Giuliani is out of office, but the city's policy of safe harbors for illegal immigrants stands.

You're the pitiful one, porn-spammer.

..These are Giuliani operatives trying to stir up excitement and interest among otherwise conservative people..

..or perhaps being overcome with desperation-- thinking about the prospect of a Clinton II presidency..

something too terrible to imagine

I can assure you the military will vote for a conservative candidate, not Rudy Giuliani. If there is a load of crap on this forum it is from the liberal RINO Giuliani active campaigners who are attempting to paint him as a conservative.

Repeating: Rudy Giuliani is pro-abortion, pro-partial birth abortion, pro-gun control, pro-stem cell research, pro homosexual agenda and pro-amnesty for illegal border invaders. I don't think our military wants to serve under a president like that.

"My guess is that Rudy repsects the Constitution. "

Your *guess*. You only hear what you wish to hear.

"Or do you want to just keep repeating this over and over?"

It's a pretty important point. It may not be to you, but to Conservatives it is. He's for gun control. In fact, he's worse than Dinkins on the subject.

Just wait until the NRA starts sending out mailings on him.

Someone needs to check their facts, sort of makes your other postings questionable... seems you arent doing such a spiffy job!

It was widely reported after Hillary made claims as to Chelsea's whereabouts on the morning of 9-11 that she wasnt anywhere near there.

I don't know if Islamic terrorists are really as big a threat as are the Leftists in our midst that hope for a Hugo Chavez-type Marxist takeover of America.

I can see our ignorant, befuddled, public-school masses resisting an Islamic takeover because that would threaten their sexual freedoms, easy access to drugs, pornography and abortion.

However, I think they would run headlong towards a Hitliary Clinton declaring herself President For Life, setting up communist "People's Communities" suspending the constitution, seizing corporations and utilities, seizing rich people's homes "unused land," and asking (and receiving) permission to rule by decree for 1.5 years.

THAT is far more possible for America than Sharia.

Ed

Thank you for the reasoned response. We will see in a year how the WOT is going, but I do fear the Islamic Fascists. All we need to do is look to Europe for proof. For years the Europeans have been appeasing them, and they still aren't satisfied. They are trying to make the World into the sharia laws. By appeasing the Islamic Fascists, we are losing our religious freedoms here and abroad. It is so much deeper than 9/11 or Osama Bin Laden, just keep that in the back of your mind.

Someday we may have no abortion, or pornography, or gay agendas, yet we will be expected to praise allah, and not Thank God.
