I don't know if "they" want to improve the tone. They spend a lot of time complaining about the harshness of these threads.
After calling opponents klansmen and insinuating that Rudy opponents are actually part of the antiwar right. Or that they should be supporting Edwards. And then when I call them on making such posts, I'm the bad guy. Go figure.

Like I said that is your opinion. No, that is backed by fact - one of which was provided by you. The statement from Rudy THAT YOU POSTED is much more in line with the Dems on illegal immigration than the GOP platform.
You just refuse to acknowledge such - as you claim Rudy critics should be supporting Edwards.

Spiff, do you have attention deficit disorder? You and bantered back and forth about your little table yesterday. I asked for attribution of your Rudy positions. You said you didn't need to provide that, and told me to "Google it." Your throwing it in my face every fifth post you make on these threads doesn't change the impression that you're guilty of major spin. There is a reason I ask that you Google it. That's because when you do you find out exactly what I found out. If you're not willing to invest the time to find out for yourself, than it doesn't matter what the chart says. You're going to believe whatever you want to believe and you'll disregard even the best footnoted/annotated chart I could make. And if you're not willing to invest the time, then it shows that your opinion is ill-informed. I'm confident with the content of the chart and have successfully defended its content against all comers while making a few minor tweaks for clarity.

Right. I also believe what Rudy said on O'Reilly and Hannity shows have bearing on his policy. IOW, are there more then three steps. From what I've heard Rudy say, the answer is yes. On O'Reilly's show he stated that the illegals who are here in the US today must be "regularized". I told you, the word "regularize" is a code word for amnesty and a path to citizenship. Does Rudy support HR4437 FIRST? NO he does not. Rudy wants comprehensive immigration reform. That is not what conservatives support. Rudy is on the same page with Bush, McCain, Kennedy, Hagel and Martinez!

I don't know what to tell you. Unless we get a hall monitor...this may be the fact of life until the election is over.
It just means I will spend less time on Free Republic because if I want to be exposed to argument that rises to the level of name calling, it is much easier to lean out my window and listen to the six years old from down the street play.
You keep up the good work. :)

NH is not nationwide -- she received no traction. NH does not determine the winner. Heck Bush lost NH to McCain.

On January 12, 1999 Elizabeth Dole led all candidates in the New Hampshire primary poll. ..very good point
It is WAY too early to know what the landscape is going to be like by convention time--there will be a lot of candidates come and go--the nominee may not even be one the ones mentioned...

You are correct.
Looks like there be no debate. It's seems like quashing debate is the name of the game.
