Bush: happy for Cheney's gay daughter pregnancy
Reuters ^ | 12/15/06

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney's pregnant lesbian daughter Mary will make a "fine mom," President George W. Bush said, sidestepping his past comment that a child ideally would be raised by a mother and father.

Mary Cheney, 37, and her longtime partner, Heather Poe, are expecting their first child, which would be the sixth grandchild for the vice president. Cheney was hired last year as an executive for America Online.

"I think Mary is going to be a loving soul to her child. And I'm happy for her," Bush said in an interview with People magazine.

"...you have no understanding of what true liberty entails."

Well, in your book it means me doing only what you think I should do.

"Does it not?"

When I get answers like the one in your previous post, I realize that further conversation one this topic would be a waste of both of our time. I wish you a good day.

It hurts to find out that that the principles you defend so energetically are shared and defended with equal energy by Islamofascists, doesn't it?

You are what you believe in.

Yes you should have. Here's a question for your edification, should you reason and research it out:
Why *then* would a reasonable, caring, loving and kind people put the wife at leseer status to the husband at laws in equity (that is, property ownership)?
The clue is in the real, practical differences between life now and then. We NOW live in some mush greater comfort and safety, in particular with regard to one thing directly related to sex. Think about it.

I know little of the property rights of unmarried women during the Revolutionary War period. If you do know, please share. As concerning the property and estate rights concerning married women during this period, you stand corrected. Don't patronize me.

There were any number of times that women who *owned* property or had access to money - were accused of being witches and burned at the stake - or whatever execution style was picked - and the so-called religious men would confiscate the property or money.

Yeah, retreating to the past is just what these folks are advocating. Says a lot to me about their beliefs :-)

"What you don't seem to understand is that homosexuality WILL become more and more accepted - and yes, I have no problem with homosexuality. It is part of nature and has been around as long as humanity. I see no *homosexual agenda*. I am amused by those who believe 2% of the population is so powerful that they are somehow going to destroy western civilization."

You are on the wrong site. You will never convince me that a man placing his member in another man's filthy rectum is "normal", "natural" or that it is a a good and positive thing that "will become more acceptable" or that it, in any way, approaches the beauty and completeness of God's created order of man with woman.

You are trolling on this site to support and promote you pro-homosexual leanings.

If you were an honest person you would find another board to peddle your filth.

"That goes for agenda driven homosexuals and pious agenda driven self righteous Christians equally."

You're equating the homosexual agenda with Christian teachings. Actually, you're being more critical of Christians. "Self righteous" generally means someone who is himself unrighteous but demands religiosity from others, or who is vain about his own piousness.

Total nonsense, and reveals your hatred for standard morality. Notice Jefferson's statement about the necessity for the moral principles which are the same in every religion.

No one needs to convince you if anything; other than it's not up to you to decide nor judge.

If you truly believe in God, then you must also truly believe that we will each individually stand before Him in judgment some day. I wonder how it is that knowing that, you attempt to usurp His place to make yourself God on Earth, and judge others on the here and now.

All I am saying, in regards to artificial conception, is that single women should not be permitted to use it.

They can always find a private sperm donor if they want.

Sorry you equate support for morality as the foundation of human civilization with be a "scarey little control freak".

Actually, it would be quite interesting to see how you'd handle living in the utopia you imagine, totally free from the nasty fetters of religiously derived moral standards.

There's actually quite a poignant story for them already in the Bible. Christ sees a woman about to be stoned for adultery. He starts drawing things in the sand, exposing the sins of those with the stones. They all slink away, as apparently their sins are as bad or worse than that of the woman.

You do understand, do you not, that none of the founders had a problem with sodomy laws. You might research your hero Jefferson's input on the subject in Virginia. What the founders didn't want was legislated religious beliefs/tenets. They had no problem with laws built around the moral principles of a religious people. So this irrational fear of the "religious right" is new mint, not old. The "religious right" as you call them are simply trying to maintain the standards handed down to all of us. If you believe in something you should at least not get away with lying about its origin. The "religious right" holds the historical position on gay issues. It is your position that is being imposed by the government's courts on the people against their will.

Hammer Meets Nail.

I've been on this site longer than you have :-)

Perhaps you are on the wrong site? :-)

And consider this: maybe it's true that you really should keep your views of other people's sexual habits to yourself. You do youself no favor exposing your prejudices here. And yes, homosexuality WILL become more and more accepted.

If you are an honorable person - why don't we agree to see what changes happen in 2007 and we can post again a year from now?

SS refused to read the Gay Liberation Manifesto, I asked his/her opinion about it but s/he got quite upset and refused to read it or comment.

No one who is cheerleading the 'gay' agenda on these threads will touch it.

They pretend that they are conservative and that conservatism means libertinism. They are hopelessly blind because (as my tagline notes), they want to be blind. Nothing can help them, except perhaps a big dose of Reality someday.

You know the saying - if you don't let Reality in when it knocks, one of these days it'll kick the door in.

Whats also happening with the whole gay thing debate is the social right are overplaying their hand. Instead of defending traditional values some have gone on the offensive. When you're perceived as a majority attacking a minority you will lose the PR battle ...the support of the electorate and then the whole thing.

I'm against the teaching of tolerance and diversity as a religion in our schools.

How we counter this is tricky and may well define the future of conservatism. Demonising your political opponents by quoting the Bible is not the way to go...... I prefer the South Park method of exploiting the lefts excesses and making them an object of ridicule.

Central Scrutiniser, homosexuality and lesbianism are the topics under discussion here. If that hasn't become clear to you yet then reread the thread.
