No Giuliani, No McCain
Petition Online ^ | Dec. 14, 2006 | Andrew Longman

Posted on 12/15/2006 7:22:32 PM PST by FarRockaway

To: The Republican Party

I am a Christian conservative or social conservative. I am Pro-Life. I vote.

Rudy Giuliani is pro-gay, pro-gun control, and pro-abortion.

For these reasons and others, I state very firmly that I will not vote for Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States under any circumstances.

Senator John McCain has waffled on human cloning, has supported experimentation on human embryos, and has attacked prominent Christian clergy because of the, "evil influence that they exercise." John McCain has said of Pro-Life voters, on a public broadcast radio show, that they are, "otherwise intelligent people who say that that's the only issue that will determine their vote." McCain told the San Francisco Chronicle, "I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade."

For these reasons and others, I state very firmly that I will not vote for John McCain for President of the United States under any circumstances.

Sincerely,

Once again - this is NOT a child's site. Free Republic is for adults. You have made the claim that *all * Christian theologians agree with your bigotry toward Mormons - calling them a *cult* and not even using a dictionary to define it.

*You* need to back that up. I have aksed you to back it up and others have asked you to back it up.

The fact is that you have already been proven wrong in your assertions - since Methodists do not teach that Mormonisn is a *cult* and other churches as well warn against such bigoted labeling.

What I'm saying is - that you have been shown to be making false statements right here on this thread. And you need to deal with that as an adult. Correct me if I'm wrong - but making false statements is a pretty bad thing for a Christian to do, isn't it?

Santorum losing in '06 was the worst loss imho that we suffered... :( I'm still upset over it.... Although... Running him nationally now probably wouldn't be prudent.

You asked -- "Who, exactly, is the *rest of established Christianity*? Who, exactly, is *mainline* Christianity?"

Check with the "Evangelicals". They'll tell you. Are you really "that out of it" that you don't know? My goodness, I didn't know it was that difficult.

Do you want me to give you a few starters down that track? Let's see, have you checked out the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant Denomination in the United States? How about the Presbyterians? Have you checked things with them? Or, maybe the Lutherans, that would be a good place to look at, too. You could go to the Methodists, they've had a long and distinctive history in the U.S.

We could go to some of the more recent ones, like some charismatic ones -- perhaps Foursquare...

Does that give you a jump-start?

Regards,
Star Traveler

P.S. -- I'm probably going to get someone mad at me now, because I didn't include them in the historic and traditional Christian churches. Please feel free to "pipe up" if so...

Probably about three years older than you, I suspect...

As mayor, it was incumbent upon Rudy to uphold gun laws that were almost a century old and STATE WIDE!

During his tenure as mayor, the ONLY people he went after, who had guns, were criminals and gang-bangers.

Are you aware of the fact that Rudy not only CUT TAXES, CUT GOVERNMENT, but also stood up against the teachers' unions ( yes, there are two different ones in N.Y.C. ! ) and won?

He also stood up against the UN and refused to allow Arafat to attend meetings and parties and roam around, unfettered?

Don't look for a MR, PERFECT as the candidate; look at what the candidates, yes all of them who enter both the Dem and the GOP primaries have DONE; not at what they've ever said.

Whether they are a "cult" or not....they are good Republicans we NEED THEM!!

LOL - I'm surrounded by them. I live in Utah :-)

They are humans. They run the gammit from truly inspiring to less than admirable. But they are by and large decent, good people.

Calling them a *cult* is over the top, imo. They've been around too long and there are too many of them :-)

I think this is all about trying to discredit Romney. Don't you?

You said -- "Yes, let's do that. Your source has been repeatedly proven to be a liar and a fraud with numerous cites, quotes and links posted on this thread. You haven't managed to refute any of them."

Well, if we've cut right down to the matter, then we're agreed upon the facts of the matter as printed in the book "The Kingdom of the Cults" and that this is agreed-upon, across the board (in traditional and Evangelical circles, by Christian theologians and in other books about cults and Christianity) and that the Mormon religion is not of the Christian faith and does not adhere to the basic and core Christian doctrines and is a cult.

*That* is cutting right down to the matter at hand...

Star Traveler

I see no reason to do work for someone else who may be too lazy to do it themselves. I presume you're not too lazy to do that...

I would suggest that it is you who is being lazy here. And I would further suggest that the reason you don't back up your bigoted claims - is because you cannot. You are not capable of doing it.

So I do ask again - for you to provide evidence that *all* Christian Churches and *all* Christian theologians say that Mormonism is a *cult*.

You said -- "The Southern Baptist Convention, which is where I got some of my info on him, disavows him!"

The Southern Baptist Convention does not disavow what he has written in the Kingdom of the Cults, and agrees that the Mormon religion is a non-Christian cult.

And that is the issue that was disputed in the beginning of this thread. If we're in agreement that the Mormon religion is a non-Christian cult -- then I would be glad to move on from there.

Are we past that one issue and point?

Star Traveler

I am far from "lazy". But I refuse to go read a bunch of unmitigated codswallop, posted to the net, by KOOKS and morons!

You have continually used Walter Martin as you're source. Anything else that you are sure to come up with, I will NOT believe. You'll probably tell me that Texx Marr is a "respected " source next. LOL

Neither Methodist nor Presbyterians claim that Mormonism is a cult. You have repeatedly lied and borne false witness. Therefore, I place no credence on your words now; NONE!

You said -- "Now......Star Traveler, you can stop spamming this thread."

Well, thank you for giving me permission to quit this thread. It was getting kind of old, anyway.

It's not like it's really "big news" that the Mormon religion is not a Christian religion. However some people take it as "big news".

And you're right, I don't need to keep hammering away on such an obvious point.

Thanks...

Regards,
Star Traveler
