No Giuliani, No McCain
Petition Online ^ | Dec. 14, 2006 | Andrew Longman

Posted on 12/15/2006 7:22:32 PM PST by FarRockaway

To: The Republican Party

I am a Christian conservative or social conservative. I am Pro-Life. I vote.

Rudy Giuliani is pro-gay, pro-gun control, and pro-abortion.

For these reasons and others, I state very firmly that I will not vote for Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States under any circumstances.

Senator John McCain has waffled on human cloning, has supported experimentation on human embryos, and has attacked prominent Christian clergy because of the, "evil influence that they exercise." John McCain has said of Pro-Life voters, on a public broadcast radio show, that they are, "otherwise intelligent people who say that that's the only issue that will determine their vote." McCain told the San Francisco Chronicle, "I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade."

For these reasons and others, I state very firmly that I will not vote for John McCain for President of the United States under any circumstances.

Sincerely,

McCain won't win the primary, and if he did, which he won't, he will lose because of his position on Iraq, and by losing some of the swing voters as he courts the religious right in the primaries, vis a vis his recent epiphany. McCain isn't going anywhere. Just my prediction.

Unfortunately for me I live in Mike Pence's district now. He is BORING!

So far in his career he hasn't maligned a single conservative voting block, he hasn't insulted a single city in a far distant state (he obviously hasn't been in Denver or he might have commented) and has shown himself so unfocused that he can concentrate on more then a single issue during his tenure.

Have a good evening...time for me to turn in. Besides, these threads from "The Onion" are funny when you keep reminding yourself it's all just a big joke.

"I don't do sound bites."

I find it hard to believe that years of what Giuliani has said and done can be labeled "sound bites." Giuliani is a leftist republican, plain as day.

I'd rather have McCain as the nominee. I know he has some conservatism.

So either I agree with you generalization that every Muslim on earth is a terrorist at heart, or I'm a blathering idiot incapable of functioning. Oh that is rational thought. I wonder how far you carry your intolerance.

"people seem to forget that Rudy was FOR Alito and Roberts and likes Scalia... He likes "good" justices..."

Could you please provide a link to documentation for this statement?

I would feel a great deal better about Rudy if I knew this for certain!

Thank you!

Look .. I haven't decided who I will vote for .. it's still too early in the process, IMO

But one thing I can tell you .. I will vote on the person, their record and their actions and who I believe can best serve our country .. especially in a time of war

Not what religious faith they belong to

Does that corneal transplant have anything to do with the constant, droning hum that is obviously shaking the edges of your skull?

Seriously, a sentence should be constructed so that it will logically follow the previous sentence. I don't know who taught your English classes as you were growing up, but they SHOULD have known that English is the method of speech in which to communicate with other people who speak English. Your English teachers failed. Miserably. I read all three of your posts to me, and I have concluded that you would be lucky to have a dog obey your simple English commands.

But you are real great with those HTML tags, though. Focus on that.

I'm willing to bet McCain goes futher than Giuliani.

And everyone, except a few fringe candidates like Michael Charles Smith, will pander to religious groups. If you think Giuliani won't, you can only be described as hopelessly naive.

I take it back. I met Harry Reid once when I lived in Las Vegas. He was nice to me and helped me. Now I despise him.

Back to the point: Romney's religion would not be a problem for me, were he the GOP nominee.

Good evening.
"I'm not trying to insult anyone other than stay-at-home ideological purists."

I don't know anyone who fits that description.

Then again, the DemocRATs did win, didn't they. So how long do we have to pick a President?

"Otherwise, stay at home, elect Hillary. Or Edwards. Or Osama-Obama."

Not in this life.

I guarantee you if he is nominated many social conservatives and Evangelicals will either stay home or go third party. Rino Rudy's nomination will assure a rat win in 2008.

Is it just me or are most of the people that threaten to hold their breath and stay home or go 3rd party if Giuliani or McCain is the nominee (because no True Conservative would vote fore either one); ...

Weren't a lot of the same names declaring that Katherine Harris, Alan Keyes and Roy Moore would win this past November because they were True Conservative candidates? All the while calling those of us that were in touch with political reality 'liberal trolls'.

Social cons seem to like these two guys moreso than any others:

1. Duncan Hunter- from what I've seen of his positions I like him well enough, but name (non)recognition hurts him bad; how many people outside of FR and Cali ever heard of him? I always think of the old Duck Hunt Nintendo game when I see his name and one Freeper nicknamed him Duncan Hines.

2. Tom Tancredo- I myself am in favor of building a real wall along the border, but Tom is all bluster and hyperbolic.
He spoke at an event hosted by The League of the South, which isn't just about preserving southern heritage, they have called for a free and seperate Southern Republic independent of the American empire.

And he insults everyone living in Miami and picks a fight with governor Bush. Yeah, he's real serious about solutions for the border... SmileyCentral.com

I've known Mormons too, and I have never met one I didn't like.

I've said the same thing myself many a time, starting from my graduate school (which had many) and continuing over many years and throughout the country. None can ever explain where those Golden Tablets got off to, but they always turn out to be great people.

True enough - but that was a recent screw-up.
I expect he will fix it. In reality, he loves the cubans because they are anti-communist. He just blundered.
Should have whined about El Paso instead.

Good to know. I stand corrected --- I met Harry Reid once --- I liked him at the time but now despise him. I guess that counts to refute my earlier claim. :)

"I wouldn't count out Romney."

I agree. He is intelligent and an excellent strategic thinker. He is putting together a great staff and is a pro at raising money. Just look what he did at Bain Capital and at the 2002 Winter Olympics. :)

My mother's parents were Mormon as are my next door neighbors of 25 years. They are all great people and I have yet to see them with their horns and forked tails exposed.
