No Giuliani, No McCain
Petition Online ^ | Dec. 14, 2006 | Andrew Longman

Posted on 12/15/2006 7:22:32 PM PST by FarRockaway

To: The Republican Party

I am a Christian conservative or social conservative. I am Pro-Life. I vote.

Rudy Giuliani is pro-gay, pro-gun control, and pro-abortion.

For these reasons and others, I state very firmly that I will not vote for Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States under any circumstances.

Senator John McCain has waffled on human cloning, has supported experimentation on human embryos, and has attacked prominent Christian clergy because of the, "evil influence that they exercise." John McCain has said of Pro-Life voters, on a public broadcast radio show, that they are, "otherwise intelligent people who say that that's the only issue that will determine their vote." McCain told the San Francisco Chronicle, "I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade."

For these reasons and others, I state very firmly that I will not vote for John McCain for President of the United States under any circumstances.

Sincerely,

I wasn't here prior to the 2000 election, what was the consensus here at that time in regard to G.W.Bush...too moderate?

McCain drunk?

I don't know about drunk, but this last year he sure has seemed more than a bit sedated when I've seen him in interviews. Either he's doing his utmost to shed his angry "McCainiac" image by deliberately keeping his voice barely above a whisper and suppressing any animation/expression whatsoever, or he's loaded up on barbituates.

i have not been able to understand the dislike of mccain among some freepers. no hes not a christian conservative but he is a consistent conservative.

Hardly.

No one has given me a good reason to dislike him.

Ok. Here's one. McCain-Feingold. Who are John McCain or Russ Feingold to tell you you cannot pay for ads for the candidate of your choice less than 60 days before an election?

McCain is an arrogant authoritarian of the first order. I do not want him near a position of real power.

Ever.

Go take a course in HOW politics and government work in America!

You can NOT "knock out" anyone, who has/is going to choose to run in the '08 GOP presidential primaries; especially NOT with a stupid petition.

You may not like him, but Rudy is VERY popular with a LOT of CONSERVATIVES and just plain old Republicans; unlike McCain.

He was and maybe still is receiving medication and treatment for his skin cancer, but for some people maybe calling him drunk is more fun, huh?

Please excuse the "asshat" comment. That was uncalled for and was not really part of my intended response to you.

Right. Your fingers magically typed it. At least you could have BLAMED it on something, like your mystical typing cat or a vulgar leprechaun.

That's okay, I wouldn't have read the asshat comment anyway unless you called attention to it. Your response started out as gibberish and descended into incomprehensibility from there, rendering it downright unreadable by the second sentence.

But thanks for playing.

Oh, and enjoy YOUR Republican party, superchamp.

Hell will freeze over and YOU will become a MUSLIM, before Tancredo will win a GOP presidential primary; let alone the presidency!

That law wouldn't be law today if GWB hadn't signed it.

He is to blame too.

Regarding CFR: McCain is guilty of opportunism (imho, it wasn't authoritianism but simply what seemed popular at the time- just as bad..).. President Bush was guilty of not wanting to create more divisions in the middle of a war..

I, for one, won't vote for Tancredo.

The CFR issue is crap anyway. There was 1 billion bucks raised for the 2006 elections and tv ads were playing right up to the evening of November 6th. There was NO shortage of money or issue ads in the first election covered by CFR.

That is why he scares them so.

An Italian from New York elected President... To paraphrase Marisa Tomei in "My Cousin Vinnie," what a freakin' nightmare!

[...we need someone with a good military success track record and and understanding of current military technology and tactic..]

I firmly believe that there are no people in this country who fit this description. Everyone of any standing in the military is a product of Korea, Vietnam and Soviet Cold War thinking and is not suitable for leading our military against the Jihadists.

We need someone who can make tough yet necessary decisions like Truman made regarding Japan.
