What you weren't told: Compean fired off fifteen rounds, they didn't make any report at all until the IG asked them what had happened, and it turned out they had sterilized the crime scene immediately after the shooting.

Oh, there is something to this case in that two agents who knew better and were experienced failed to report they shot their guns off at someone.

They were in their rights to do it, but what they did makes their bosses and pubic wonder what the thinking could be.
They did that to themselves, but years is ridiculous.

Jobs lost and two years probation with no rights to own and carry weapons again would have been plenty IMO.

Where do you have the idea everybody has a "forensics team". In many parts of the country the only folks you are going to see is the Sheriff to secure the perps wallet and other papers, and the coroner.

Maybe the Volunteer Fire Department will haul away the body.

The homeowner is going to be free to start cleaning things up and calling a lawyer to get a civil case going against the dead guy's estate, or his relatives, to pay for it all.

The Judge, in this case, was in fact nominated by President Bush in 2003. The Judge's resume is pretty good (I've just read it). Appears the judge is going by the laws on the books, given the facts you and PRND21 have provided.

I think every Freeper in Texas should vote against Governor Rick Perry on November 7 as a protest. He refused to intervene on behalf of the Border Patrol Agents.

Governor Perry chose to allow the lawful process to prevail. Nobody has been denied the right to appeal. To intervene at this point would be an injustice to the accused (now convicted), and the citizens of Texas. I have a radical idea. We observe the laws of the State of Texas.

Not here in Fairfax County, Virginia, Not San Diego county. Not in the Maryland Panhandle (although in Baltimore and Southern MD you'll need to appear in court at least once, but if you're FBI you get off every single time.

Not sure where you live but things are rarely handled in real life like they are in CSI. It's actually more like Jack Bauer's situation.
