Free Republic Poll on Evolution

Free Republic is currently running a poll on this subject:
Do you think creationism or intelligent design should be taught in science classes in secondary public schools as a competing scientific theory to evolution?
You can find the poll at the bottom of your "self search" page, also titled "My Comments," where you go to look for posts you've received. I don't know what effect -- if any -- the poll will have on the future of this website's science threads. But it's certainly worth while to know the general attitude of the people who frequent this website.
Science isn't a democracy, and the value of scientific theories isn't something that's voted upon. The outcome of this poll won't have any scientific importance. But the poll is important because this is a political website. How we decide to educate our children is a very important issue. It's also important whether the political parties decide to take a position on this. (I don't think they should, but it may be happening anyway.)
If you have an opinion on this subject, go ahead and vote.

You really project a lot from the tiniest of toeholds.
Wherever there is any debate and you do not do debate by the way, 'the intellectual side' will by default be ceded away from any side you declare that you are on.
To: freedumb2003
How about we leave it that you live in a fantasy world where you are a intellectual in your own mind, but to the rest of the world something that can exist only as the figment of a lunatics imagination.
To take from some of your favorite repartee 'there fixed it for you'
Lets just leave it at that. Capiche?? glad we got that all settled.

Wow, You really must be drunk, or a complete narcicist, either way, you got problems brother, and I mean big ones.
To: Jaguarbhzrd
Well thanks for all your in-depth insight /sarc> I will put it in the same bin as the Freedum posts, and where 90% of rest of the evo-dc-cult contributions go. IOW garbage.
But thanks for playing

Obviously you are a retread to so quickly jump into the evo threads (hard and fast with both feet) take up the usual evo talking points, and know the vernacular of the threads so quickly.
In fact all of this happened within the first several posts on your sign-up up day.
BTW, I have not seen you 'do science' yet either. That seems to be a hallmark of your clique, you claim the mantle of science, but in fact there is very little science about you.
To: RunningWolf
LOL, a retread?
That's an interesting turn of phrase.
To think that you took all of that time to check out what and where I posted, you must really like me.
You will also notice that I post in a lot of other threads, I just enjoy the debate in the evo threads, all the other threads are a bunch of atta boys, which gets rather boring, oh, and BTW, I hardly touched the evo threads when I first started here, because I didn't have a clue that it was as bad as it actually is.
Although it didn't take long to realize that there was something definitely wrong.
And you epitomize it to a fare thee well.

Note the poster thought an official FR poll, that had finished 24 hours before his post, was a private poll conducted by another freeper. Also, he accused the freeper of fiddling with the poll numbers and said it's about time the poll was ended. In the same reply, he insulted the pingee and pinged the Admin Mod in his reply.
In addition, he didn't get it when given a hint and is apparently still unaware of this. How utterly clueless can someone be?

How utterly clueless can someone be? What do you expect? Most creationists think that just because they define "theory" as something they thought up after being drunk all night, that scientists do things the same way, when in reality it takes years, decades of work 'round the clock to reach results that press articles only highlight.
The creationist vision of science is a bunch of Harvard "elites" wearing suede jackets, smoking pipes and drinking brandy making wild speculations, when in reality it involves thousands of man-hours of painstaking work in labs using the most cutting-edge technology available, with adamant conclusions being drawn only after making completely sure, through multiple avenues of inquiry, that the data is solid, and hypotheses are cycled through the ruthless grinder of peer review, which is hundreds of times harsher than any of the light-hearted discussions you find here on FR or any other forum.
People think they can hear a few quotes by Stephen Gould or read a few chapters from a book by Stephen Hawking and suddenly have the expertise to draw conclusions from a .gif image of the cosmic background radiation, or look at a few skull pictures and think they're competent to act as an armchair paleontologist.
While they can provide amusement, these people grossly overestimate their own level of knowledge, and don't realize how ridiculous they are making themselves look. Such persons should learn about the difference between cranks and real scientists and take a long hard look at themselves, and perhaps have a little more respect for those who actually put in the years of time and hard work into their fields.

Lookee who mentioned and insulted you and didn't ping you.
And this is a poster who whines to the Religion Mod when named in a placemarker post, about not being pinged.

Oh, I saw that....but, of course, its par for the course...I would have expected nothing else...thanks for noticing...

He's not a retread and knock off the personal attacks!

I forgive all intemperate remarks, and I pray for the recovery of those who are so twisted, demented, unbalanced, and otherwise impaired that they would post such remarks.

I do believe that you owe me an apology.
Then again, I don't expect to get one.

He didn't seem to endorse the Soviet nuclear weapons project in "The Big Red Bomb" either.

No problem there Mr. Mod.
And for any charge made against me I think I could show that pattern applied 20 times over against any freepr who might oppose them (as part and parcel of that clique, including several that have shown up here to get all sanctimonious at me).
However since the most egregious of them have been spewing the same crap everyday for years on end here, I kind of doubt you or anyone else is really interested in any work like that I might do. And really for what point would be for except to prove at least to me I had it calibrated correctly. And nooo, we shan't dare to engage them at their level.
So let me guess, the evo slur via place-marker, the 'ping list' sidebar conversation about the target that rarely gets noticed by anyone-else but the target, the nameless 'ping to your post' leaving your screen-name out etc and more. Well all of that is going to end too! Heh Heh, just a very poor joke there because we all know that is less likely to happen than a evolutionist ever finding anything that does not prove to him that he came from some ancient ape ancestor's that replicated imperfectly.
But thanks anyway for all the hard work you do.
Think I will go find that Amish Families Condolences/Make a Contribution thread and do something worthwhile with my time and send prayer & a few $$ their way. Just wish I could have been there to get in the killers way instead though.
Salute,
W.
