"Regardless of all the cheap shots, Rudy at this point is the only rep candidate who is electable!"

- You got that right. I think you can expect more scare "quotes" from leftists like Liz who are wetting their drawers in fear that Hitlery would be consigned to the dustbin of history if she had to run against an experienced old warhorse like Rudy.
Can you imagine them in debate? Hitlery, who has had to face nothing but puffball, pre-scripted interview questions against a guy who has received nothing but rough treatment at the hands of the press and has handled them all with poise and confidence. He would eat her lunch.

Some of the Rudy haters here have recently made posts that look like they were written by members of DailyKos or Code Pink. Shall I dig them up?

:)

I live in New York City, and the Rudy Era was a great time here in New York. Crime plummeted, tourists and businesses came back in droves and the streets were cleaned up of all sorts of garbage. I may not be a fan of Hollywood's politics, but their activities put money in the city's coffers. It is no exaggeration to say that Rudy was the best thing to happen to this city in my lifetime.

"I hate to break this to you, but Rudy is not Jewish. I don't know why you keep implying that he is Jewish."

This is a subliminal techinique used to suggest that a conservative is a Nazi.

In other words, they are the lunatic Jewhating rightwing fringe. In other words, they are the lunatic Jewhating rightwing fringe.

Wow! That's a new one.

So, just because some conservative FReepers don't agree with Rudy's liberal leanings suddenly we're part of this "Lunatic Jew-Hating Right-Wing Fringe. "

Good grief.

The quotes are all attributed. Most likely links were not possible and the context is fairly irrelevant.

What part of conservatives disliking a GOP frontrunner who is pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-tax and anti-gun is so difficult to understand?

Giuliani's positions on these issues demonstrate he is neither conservative nor competent. If he is unable to grasp fundamental conservative positions why should I expect that he will govern well?

Context is very important when evaluating quotes. I rarely if ever post unlinked quotes. Because I don't expect folks to spend their time doing my research for me.

Yes , but in Veronica's case , not so subtle. This is a classic Democrat tactic, equate Conservatives with Nazi's .
Veronica is using typical Democrat tactics .

Rudy unfortunately is another Bob Dole. Rudy is famous for NY not for the rest of the country. BTW if he's guilty of the listed sins, then it's better to know now than when the RATS start the listing.

I totally agree. I live in Queens, and I voted for him for mayor twice and have seen this city go from bad to wonderful because of him.

--Giuliani said homosexuality is "good and normal." quoting Ray Kerrison New York Post, July 7, 1989

--Rudy Guiliani on abortion: "I'd give my daughter the money for it [an abortion]."

I doubt these quotes. If he runs for president, I hope he is challenged on them.

Most of the article is what other people say about Rudy, not what he has to say for himself.

Rudy did a great job as mayor of New York. He has true leadership skills. He understands the war on militant Islam. I don't know if I will support him for president - it depends on who else is in the race, and what he has to say now on all these hot-button issues.

But we could do a lot worse than Rudy. McCain is a kook. Rudy is not a kook.

If Rudy decides to run, I am sure the Republican primaries will make or break him. Either he will persuade Republican activists that he is not a slender Italian Ted Kennedy, or he will be exposed as a northeastern liberal Rockefeller Republican and go down in flames.

But I will consider him very seriously.

I'm hardly a liberal. To me, the most important issue of our time is to continue to take the fight to the enemy. My top choice would be Tommy Franks but he hasn't shown an interest. Rudy lived 9/11 and was quite the hero. Almost lost his own life. Let me repeat my question: who can you name that meets every one of your conservative standards?

The RATS won't bother, because Rudy's sins are RAT sins! There is no separation between the two!

I wouldn't argue that he was good for the city , which is a completely different story. For the country as a whole with those policies, no way .

Of course, the Rockefeller Republicans here will bash you, but you're exactly right about Giuliani.

Isn't FR supposed to be a conservative site, after all?

"Let me repeat my question: who can you name that meets every one of your conservative standards?"

Truthfully, nobody who is electable at this juncture . Rudy though , hits the far left side of every social issue which means he will never get my vote, nor win the primaries .
