Minutemen Condemn Congressman Pence's Amnesty Proposal Sierra Times
PHOENIX, AZ (June 15, 2006) Chris Simcox, President of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC), released the following statement in response to the reported endorsement by the Minutemen of Rep. Mike Pences so-called compromise amnesty proposal:
The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps in no way, shape, manner or form endorses Rep. Mike Pences current amnesty proposal in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and its leadership represent the U.S. citizen volunteers who from their first operations in Tombstone AZ five long years ago, have stood vigilant mission after mission on the front lines of our broken borders. By the hundreds, and now thousands nationwide, with cleared background checks and a rigorously enforced field SOP (standard operating procedure), we as free Americans are acting to secure our nations frontiers from foreign invasion in the face of overt federal government failure to do so. We are backed today by over 180,000 private donors and subscribed volunteers nationwideand growingand we would like to reassure the American people that while some in our grassroots movement have publicly expressed their own personal opinions, the official position of MCDC is unequivocal: Rep. Pences amnesty proposal is a sell-out; it is a politically opportunistic betrayal of the U.S. Houses stalwart action in HR 4437 to protect and defend these United States with Border Security First, as is the Congress duty under the U.S. Constitution; and it is utterly rejected by the Minutemen.
There is only one Minuteman organization standing operational watch nationwide at our borders and only one Minuteman organization building fences along the United States border with Mexico on private land using private donations. Others who tout the Minuteman name may support legislation that fecklessly undermines HR 4437 and grants amnesty to illegal aliens. But I can assure you that the premiere Minuteman group doing the actual hard work at the borders, with the firm support of the American people, does not and will not endorse any form of amnesty, no matter what kind of false advertising it is wrapped in, no matter which side of the political aisle it rears its ugly head.
Make no mistake, Rep. Mike Pence has sold out the American people and the House Republican leadership in his attempt to curry favor with the Rockefeller wing and the morally irresponsible free-marketeers of the Republican Party. They wish to award their big donor, open border lobbyists with an unending supply of slave-wage labor and ethically unaccountable global marketplacesall subsidized by the American taxpayer, and all at the expense of our national sovereignty, security and prosperity. The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps will not sell out the American people to these special interests. We will continue at our posts until this nations borders are actually secured. And we send notice to the U.S. Congress, as the American Peoples HouseStand Firm! We expect no less than that you each uphold the sworn oath you have taken to protect and defend America!
With "conservative friends" like the minutemen and tancredo, who needs enemies.
Also minuteman/tancredo endorsed candidate in Utah, John Jacob, it seems had his own personal guest worker program going.
I guess this means Mike Pence is now out as a "Real conservative" for some Freepers.
Thought you would be interested in this article. Does it relate to what you posted in May.
Tancredo Expresses Disappointment at Pences Immigration U-Turn
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1637128/posts
1. Secure our Nations Borders
Pence's plan passes HR 4437 first before any guest-worker plan is implemented. Borders must be certified secured by Homeland Security
2. Establish a Genuine Guest Worker Program
Under the Pence plan, illegals must go home to apply for a guest-worker permit. Annual quota limits would be based upon employers needs and enforced by the Dept of Labor.
3. Improve Interior Enforcement of Immigration Laws
Just like Tancredo, Pence would crack down on employers who violate the law. Immigration and employment laws would be modernized under the Pence plan.
4. Remove Incentives for Illegal Immigration
No anchor baby status. No more illegals working under the table. NO PATH TO CITIZENSHIP - NONE!
THE PENCE PLAN IS NEARLY IDENTICAL TO TANCREDO'S 2003 PLAN. PENCE BASHERS YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
You don't know what you're talking about.
Pence's plan passes HR 4437 first before anything.
So it sounds like he's an 'immigration pimp', the same as Jessie Jackson is a race pimp. No illegal immigration and Tancredo turns into a nobody, just like the race pimps would all be out of jobs if "we all just got along".
Dane, from what I've noticed you don't agree with this.
Why did you post it?
You nailed it.
This is a DANE ALERT.
Be advised that Dane is in favor of criminals violating our immigration laws. Be further advised that Dane is in favor of American employers violating our Social Security laws, our unemployment compensation laws, our RICO Statutes, our immigration laws, and has no regard whatsoever for the thousands of Americans injured or killed at the hands of criminal invaders.
It is useless to attempt to engage him with logic, reason, or respect for the Law.
Therefore it is in your best interest to simply ignore him.
We know return you to your regularly scheduled forum activities.
"The Senate passed a bill granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens and I will not support it. Amnesty is not the answer. It will only worsen the problem because it will cause more people to come here illegally with the hope of someday having their status adjusted."
It is time for Tom Tancredo to put petty politics aside and work with Mike Pence in supporting sound, feasible immigration reform that doesn't sacrifice border security and doesn't allow foreigners instant citizenship.
The United States Senate will never consider HR 4437 or a similiar border enforcement-only bill, and the House will never consider the Senate's AMNESTY plan. Therefore, there will have to be negotiations.
It is better to get the 90% now and work and tweak the plan later, instead of THE WHINE ALL THE TIME CHOIR complaining about not getting the 100% and letting the problem contineu. It is time to call the Senate's bluff, and get them on record of either supporting a strict, regulated guest-worker provision or supporting out-and-out amnesty that the American people have made it clear that they do not want.
If Tancredo is really the conservative that he is, whereas he has a near 100% ACU record on the issues, whereas Pence's immigration plan is nearly identical to his own sans the length of the guest-worker provision, whereas passing a strict immigration bill will cement Congressional control in Republicans hands, then he needs to get on board and support the Pence (which is basically his own plan) plan.
Otherwise, he is part of the problem and not the solution!
What's the matter, you sound like Dane sprayed holy water on you. I think yo may be protesting a bit too much.
Don't worry, I just write everything he says off as a product of subjective reality.
"No it sounds like the last thing that the Minutemen or Tancredo want is for this issue to be resolved. Their livelihoods depend on having the issue NOT the solution."
LOL!
I am in a quandry here, I like the Minutemen, but I like Pence's plan. Given that Pence's plan is tough and gets rid of the anchor baby problem....not to mention that Pence is in a position to actually DO something rather than just whine....I'll back him. I won't put the Minutemen down at all, but I do like the Pence plan.
I thought he used Taco juice...
DANE ALERT!!
Now that is funny. That is exactly what I do too. I usually laugh at him and all the other White House pimps that appear on these imigration threads. There only put on earth to give people something to laugh at and they do a good job too.
