Coulter vs Darwin
Godless | 06/06 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 06/09/2006 6:16:57 AM PDT by tomzz

You can't help but notice that there is a very vocal sort of a little clique of evolutionists on FreeRepublic, and there has always been a question in a lot of people's minds as to whether or not the theory of evolution is in any way compatible with conservatism.

This new book ("Godless") of Ann Coulter's should pretty much settle the issue.

Ann does not mince words, and she has quite a lot to say about evolution:

"Liberals' creation myth is Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, which is about one notch above scientology in scientific rigor. It's a make-believe story, based on a theory which is a tautology, with no proof in the scientists laboratory or the fossil record, and that's after 150 years of very determined looking. We wouldn't still be talking about it but for the fact that liberals think evolution disproves God....

It gets better from there, in fact a lot better. Ann provides a context for viewing the liberal efforts to shut down everything resembling debate on the subject in courtrooms and makes a general case that it is the left and not the right, which is antithetical to science in general. Anybody interested in this question of American society and the so-called theory of evolution should have a copy of this book

Being a creationist means never having to say you are sorry.

It also means you are excused from actually having to learn or remember anything.

Note to Religion Moderator. It is OK to use the word 'fraud' in the religion forum?

It is acceptable to call the author of an article a fraud (as long as the author isn't a Freeper).

It is acceptable to call a belief system fraudulent or a lie.

It is NOT acceptable to call another Freeper a fraud, liar, etc. anywhere on the Religion Forum.

You are the one putting the 'certain' into large letters, I did not...you are the one imagining what I may be thinking...if you have ill feelings stirred up, because of what someone else said to you, take it out on them, and not on me...stop saying that I said things, which I did not say...that is simply what I am saying...

I can understand that you may have ill feelings, and get stirred up by what others on the religious threads may have said to you..but you made up a falsehood, when you claimed I said something about you, which I did not do...that is what I am talking about, and you seem not to want to directly address that...

There's talk of "treasures", but nothing more specific.

Well I guess it's a draw for pirates...

<< You'll get an apology from a demon before you get one here. >>

I'm back already. That only took about ten minutes.

Since I have been called a demon at least twice already in here -- I guess I am qualified -- so -- AHEM -- I hereby apologize on behalf of all demons. Except "Morton's Demon." Can't no one deal with HIM!

Call a truce and get on with discussing the issues, leaving all indignations behind - or exit the thread NOW.

Right -- I forgot the "treasures." Well, anyway -- I am not actually trying to ridicule Christian belief in Heaven -- it's just a joke I tell often, and told often when I was a pastor.

It seems to me, though, that nothing in heaven can match the seeming joy that some Freepers seem to get out of contemplating OUR supposed fate in the Lake of Fire. That is about all the Heaven they need. LOL!

You made the statement that I responded to in post 317, so I'm asking you.

you wrote Weak faith causes doubt, but I thought you wrote previously that finding out that even one little thing in the bible that is not true opens up a pandora's box of horror.

All I am asking is for an example of something in the bible that has been proven not to be true, and how exactly it opens up a box of horrors? Maybe you would just like to retract that statement.

Weak faith is not an answer as

Eph 2:8

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: .

A Christian is saved by a strong faith from God.

Hmmm. Maybe that explains the large amount of such we see from so many denizens of the Religion forum when they venture out to other threads without that rule. They get all worked up in here, arguing among themselves about doctrine -- then they go charging out of here to the crevo threads, and let loose with all manner of amazing insults.

I'm learning all kinds of new dirty words from our "Christian" participants. LOL!

The Earth is far older than 5000 yrs old. Which is fine if one doesnt take Genesis as a science text.

and how exactly it opens up a box of horrors?

Slippery slope and all that. Wow this really pushed a button of yours.

If it is meat, how was it found INSIDE the bone?

Should I not expect an answer?

I'm sure you understand the necessity for a higher standard on a Religion Forum where the correspondents are particularly zealous about the issues...

So still, perhaps the earth is x number of years old, big deal. It doesn't affect real faith one way or the other. Christians believe in God, they believe his word is true. You haven't pushed any buttons, I just would like to see posters back up the remarks they post, just like you do.

I think you got this figured out!

BTW - 1000silverlings is popping a gasket over here. We'd love to hear your perspective on creationists' obsessive need to believe everything in the bible literally. It seems he wont take my word for it (being godless and all I suppose).
