Coulter vs Darwin
Godless | 06/06 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 06/09/2006 6:16:57 AM PDT by tomzz

You can't help but notice that there is a very vocal sort of a little clique of evolutionists on FreeRepublic, and there has always been a question in a lot of people's minds as to whether or not the theory of evolution is in any way compatible with conservatism.

This new book ("Godless") of Ann Coulter's should pretty much settle the issue.

Ann does not mince words, and she has quite a lot to say about evolution:

"Liberals' creation myth is Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, which is about one notch above scientology in scientific rigor. It's a make-believe story, based on a theory which is a tautology, with no proof in the scientists laboratory or the fossil record, and that's after 150 years of very determined looking. We wouldn't still be talking about it but for the fact that liberals think evolution disproves God....

It gets better from there, in fact a lot better. Ann provides a context for viewing the liberal efforts to shut down everything resembling debate on the subject in courtrooms and makes a general case that it is the left and not the right, which is antithetical to science in general. Anybody interested in this question of American society and the so-called theory of evolution should have a copy of this book

I was pretty sure you would trash the source of the article and refuse to look into the facts to see if your citation may be erroneous. But I went ahead and gave you the opportunity to do the right thing and show us that you are open to the possibility of error. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt until I see the track record.

But even if you refuse to look -- since you seem intent on posting your link on these threads, I will be sure to notice when and where you do it, and will be right behind, posting the correction, for those reading. I will trust that reasonable persons who want the truth will take a look at both and reach their own conclusions.

Care to point out the abortionists and homosexuals?

Hey, you know what? I'm a Buddhist. Buddhists are against homosexuality and abortion.

You ever heard of the words "non sequitur"?

I believe in God and have never been called an idiot or troll by anyone here (apart from the Christians, that is).

You think tomzz is bad. There was a poster once who kept posting these dumb rants about "Evolutionists and the Melon Truck," or sometimes it was dumb stuff about Native American art being dinosaurs, or stuff about reptiles deciding to evolve flight by chanting "OMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm...," or some of the longest quote-mines you've ever seen, all on thread after thread after thread. And it didn't matter how often you rebutted this stuff. You couldn't even get him to correct the spelling.

I think it was the quote mines that got him banned one day. Well, I won't go on about the guy. He isn't here to defend himself.

Funny, somehow I managed to get accepted into a Ph.D. program with a degree from a conservative evangelical Baptist-affiliated university. At that point I was a young earth creationist, but it's not like anyone ever asked.

And I'm sure you'll read the letter I wrote to AIG about their misleading coverage of this. It's at the end of my profile page.

Are you aware that those fragments are 1/8 inch across? Are you aware that before demineralization, they looked just like any other fossil?

4 of the New Jesey 9/11 widows who used and abused their grief to bash those who defended the Iraqi war!

Many of us at home thought that these few women were insincere, but Ann voiced it!

Oh yeah ... I have a vague recollection of that guy -- and his three dozen sneak-back screen names. It's not easy to get an internet-wide reputation as a kook, but somehow that guy managed it. But as you say, he's not here to defend himself. [Cough, cough ...]

We consider science teachers to be real scientists. We think engineers are real scientists. We don’t limit the term “scientist” to professors of evolutionary biology.

I used to frequent various crevo debate lists elsewhere on the net. Some of us started making a collection of the craziest posters we had seen. One of them was -- and still is -- a lot like the one you describe. He has spent well over a decade posting and reposting and reposting stuff from the "Revised Quote Book."

He is absolutely oblivious to the repeated corrections of his quotations. Others will quote the entire context, showing the dishonesty of the cut-and-paste -- and he goes right on as if no one ever said anything. It's really amazing.

He almost never gets off-script. He has posted thousands and thousands of repetitive quote-mined posts. He seems to zero in on one or two words or phrases in someone's post -- and then he finds something in his quote book that uses the same words. More often than not -- it has nothing at all to do with the topic under discussion.

When he has made the rare mistake of trying to argue in his own words, he reveals his utter ignorance and total inability to even create a normal sentence. Some of his beliefs would even embarrass some of the creationists in here -- some of them.

I won't use his real name -- I'll use asterisks -- but everyone calls him *****-bot.

I think it is instructive to read tomzz's page of posts. He has posted these pictures several times -- and he HAS been corrected on it before -- several times.

In one he said that it was hardly any different than the typical meat you pick up at a supermarket -- and that it looked more like fresh meat than week-old road-kill does.

I don't know what to make of his comments. Does he think that T-Rex got hit by an SUV a few days before the find, or something?

Why won't you answer any questions?

Are you trying to look like you don't know what you are talking about?

As I've noted, I am just a messenger here. You need to get hold of Bill Gates and the people running MSNBC and Reuters and tell them that they have perpetrated a grandiose fraud of some sort upon the public. If you can do that and if they agree with you and publically retract the story in question, then let me know about it and I will cease all mention of it.

I think it would need to be hit by a squadron of SUV's, personally!
