I think it was the quote mines that got him banned one day. Well, I won't go on about the guy. He isn't here to defend himself.
Oh yeah ... I have a vague recollection of that guy -- and his three dozen sneak-back screen names. It's not easy to get an internet-wide reputation as a kook, but somehow that guy managed it. But as you say, he's not here to defend himself. [Cough, cough ...]
I used to frequent various crevo debate lists elsewhere on the net. Some of us started making a collection of the craziest posters we had seen. One of them was -- and still is -- a lot like the one you describe. He has spent well over a decade posting and reposting and reposting stuff from the "Revised Quote Book."
He is absolutely oblivious to the repeated corrections of his quotations. Others will quote the entire context, showing the dishonesty of the cut-and-paste -- and he goes right on as if no one ever said anything. It's really amazing.
He almost never gets off-script. He has posted thousands and thousands of repetitive quote-mined posts. He seems to zero in on one or two words or phrases in someone's post -- and then he finds something in his quote book that uses the same words. More often than not -- it has nothing at all to do with the topic under discussion.
When he has made the rare mistake of trying to argue in his own words, he reveals his utter ignorance and total inability to even create a normal sentence. Some of his beliefs would even embarrass some of the creationists in here -- some of them.
I won't use his real name -- I'll use asterisks -- but everyone calls him *****-bot.
LOL!
