18. On the record 63.4 million votes, Ryan says, "Thats more than any president in the history of our country has ever received!" Yes, jackass, because teens are not permitted to vote 10,000 times each in national politics. Exactly! I have heard that comment so much today and seldom do the people saying it comment on how obsurd the statement really is!

Just got back from the grocery store where I spent over an hour shopping to the voice of Taylor over the loud speakers. It was a good thing he was a calming influence as I spent over $200. LOL!!! That's funny! Maybe that's why they played Taylor Hicks, so people would stick around longer and shop and spend more money. :)

After the competitiveness and emotional excess of the voting situation, I think Taylor will cool quickly leaving a less-than major fan base. Maybe I'm wrong.
I think you are, but we'll see of course. The Soul Patrol isn't going anywhere, and neither is Taylor. This isn't some bumpkin who stumbled onto his fame - he has been preparing for this for many many years of toil, even if he couldn't have long foreseen the Idol road he would take.
Taylor has a real vision musically and he knows how to draw and KEEP a crowd. He will fulfill his Idol obligations with great success and I predict large volume Cd sales and sold out cocerts for quite some time after that.

Thanks for the link--is there a way to save the photos on the "slideshow"? Slideshows tend to be flash and i don't know of a way to save the images. I have tried! I didn't look at those, though. Are they good?

Well, I have to disagree with you. Maybe because I am near to his hometown I see things differently. This area has been rabid with Soul Patrollers for several weeks now. When he came to B'ham for his homecoming there were over 16,000 in the middle of the mall to see him perform and it was chaos. It wasn't just little old ladies either. All ages, all races and they were screaming. Several of my friends that went said it was overwhelming how people were responding to him. I think there are many out there who are tired of the cookie cutter pop icons, like Brittany Spears, Jessica Simpson, etc. and although country is pretty popular, I see that popularity waning in recent years, because it has become the same old same old. Maybe people just want something different. That's how they should market him. of course this is jmho. :)

Yeah, could be. Or like someone said earlier, maybe Carrie was just nostalgic for when she was the one. Each season does seem to get more and more talented though. Makes you look forward to the next. :)

She might have just been super tired. One hour of sleep because of the awards show and then getting to AI. She might have just 'zoned out' for a few minutes.

I wonder if Carrie cold have been pissed at the embarassment caused by the professionals?
To: gopheraj
Yes, Kellie and Reba would be good together!

I agree, it could have been 1000 things. It has to be pretty rough to be constantly be aware every second. And put a plastic smile on your face just in case a camera catches you having a thought. A picture 's just a moment in time. She could have had gas for all we know.

I am sick and tired of the same old manufactured stuff. On radio it's like the same 15 songs are played over & over & over. I don't listen to much radio because I can't stand it. Taylor is such a breath of fresh air. And a lot of people have noticed. His music is from the heart & just genuine. It's not some guy in a suit who has a marketing degree but no clue. What Taylor does is real music. That has been missing for a long time now. It's refreshing.

I enjoyed every second of the show!
Before I even got to work this morning I had two messages on my phone from people calling to congratulate ME for Taylor's win. That might be a sign it's time for me to get a life. But I don't care. I'm still marinating in our victory!
To: silent_jonny
I am so bored! There is nothing on t.v!!! Are you positive you can't start a new thread? Call it boredom busters or something. :)
To: Sue Perkick
:) Oh I totally agree. And the sad thing is right now I'm even tired of talk radio! I am losing all of my outlets.
