ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (AP) President Bush says the deal allowing an Arab company to take over six major U.S. seaports should go forward and he will veto any bill that would stop it.
The answer to all of the above is "No."
Again, if Bush came out and said that Iran is a nation of peace and a great friend to the United States and Israel, the Bushbots would find a way to make it true in their minds.
This is too stupid to respond to. Take your meds.
This isn't very far fetched as you've already found a way to rationalize "Islam is a religion of peace because Bush told me so".
No I haven't. You're lying again.
But that's what's required to maintain your position.
Good bye, Jeff. Think about what I've said. You're wrong about everything......batting zero.
Grow up, read up, and get back to me in a few years.
I do like the word strategery. If I understand correctly, it was a verbal gaffe by President Bush that has since been "reclaimed" with the help of Rush Limbaugh and is now used to describe any instance where a seemingly stupid or boneheaded move by the President is actually just too brilliant for any of us to understand. When that word comes out to defend the latest administration action, you know the BS can't be too far away.
You rationalized the whole "Islam is a religion of peace" thing earlier in the thread. You said it was necessary in order to be diplomatic.
Of course, if anyone not nameed Bush had said something like that they would be crucified by the Bushbots.
Lady, I'm very mature, well-read, and believed you were right the first time about needing to clean your toilets and taking a shower.
"I'm actually going to take a shower."
Well, that's irrelevant to those of us more than 100 yards away from you, lol.
"I wonder if they mind sounding like insane Democrats?"
You mean like Jimmy Carter?
The company has nothing to do with port security.
They purchased the existing company that managed our ports, and should not be thought of as a "new deal with the US Government.
UAE has actually been an ally since 9/11 showing great strides of cooperation including a major airfield used by us for Iraq and other middle eastern sorties. They have pledged cooperation.
The "stupid" UAE funding of terrorism is another example of complete misunderstanding of how the terrorists existed and got funded. There were people funding them right here, and they didn't get here by port. Also, many of the terrorists had many ties to many countries.
If this company is refused, then what do we do? Shut down our ports, and economy, until we find a company to do this? There are not many who can, and none in the US.
LA is run by China, and that is just as scary for me.
This UAE company also took over CSX, a major transportation company on the east coast, and has operated it well.
The assumption that this company will replace all employees with a bunch of Arabs is absurd and downright stupid. I doubt much will change
Now, with all of this said, there is cause for concern, but the CIA and all intelligence agencies looked at this and approved it. I feel ok if it happens. This is all political, and the liberals have many of the republicans by the nuts because it is being made into a major blunder by this administration and a security issue the liberals can wrap themselves around. You have fallen into the trap.
Thanks!
Sure, bring in another million Moslem immigrants and make the USA look like Paris. Bring in another ten million Latin Americans to do our service jobs. A friend of mine called a local Pittsburgh PA pizza place and the person taking the order had an Indian accent. Even pizza order takers have been outsourced to India! (When my friend picked up the pizza at the shop, my friend asked them, are your phone people in India, and they admitted "yes".)
No jobs for Americans. Robber Barons Rule!
Dr. Coburn thought it would be discussed at the Town Hall meeting, but I have not heard anything yet. However, don't be surprised if it is not brought up. This Town Hall may focus more on problems facing our state. Since we are not a port city, it may or may not come up. I will, however, post anything I hear about what he said about the port deal.
Either way, if he does not discuss it at this Town Hall meeting, I am sure he will have an opinion once he gathers all the facts and I am looking forward to that opinion.
Hillary conveniently ignores anything 'they did', your graphics catch the eye and point it out.
The company has nothing to do with port security.
This Fox News article was posted on FR yesterday, and there's one thing that caught my attention:
Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., a longtime advocate of cargo screening, said the Bush administration's decision to accept the deal is evidence of its disregard for port security. Markey argued that DP World would be responsible for performing "significant security functions," including placing security officers at the facility, providing for security training for facility personnel and determining access to the facility.Yes, to all those who are thinking of jumping on this point, I know he's a Democrat. I'm not making any claims one way or the other as to its accuracy of what he's saying. I just want to know if anyone can respond to this factually. Is Congressman Markey right or wrong here?"Almost none of the cargo that enters our ports is ever inspected. While the federal government is ultimately responsible for security at ports, much of the day-to-day security responsibilities, such as hiring security guards and ensuring adequate access controls and fencing are in place, are delegated to the companies that operate at the port," Markey said.
I posted this question on the thread where this first appeared, and no one responded.
I think the CSI agreement was meant to increase security on both ends.
But if only 60-70% of them are, this is OK with you?
No amount is OK - but the islamofascists are minorities in their populations. It's not wise to create more enemies than we have to.
Some profiling is necessary, such as airport screening, but we don't automatically eject someone from a flight just because they're an arab. So it should be with private business deals, take extra caution (profiling), and if they check out, let the transaction take place.
"Your point? We will be looking at this company."
Dubai is a hotbed illicit activity involving the smuggling of nukes. So I suggest you look stick probes up all their a$$holes or keep them the hell away from our ports.
Goodluck
