ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (AP) President Bush says the deal allowing an Arab company to take over six major U.S. seaports should go forward and he will veto any bill that would stop it.
I can't believe you're still here.
I have been too, whether it's from the links on these threads to doing my own Google searches in my free time.
Too bad we can't play some Sinatra on this thread:
"Du-bai-du-bai-du!"
Tell sink.
Your post made me go digging around...regarding the UAE, Iran and the United States...
snip...
The UAE and Iran continue to dispute the ownership of three islands, Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunb Islands, which are strategically located in the Strait of Hormuz. All three islands were effectively occupied by Iranian troops in 1992. The Mubarak field, which is located six miles off Abu Musa, has been producing oil and associated natural gas since 1974. In 1995, the Iranian Foreign Ministry claimed that the islands are "an inseparable part of Iran." Iran rejected a 1996 proposal by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the dispute to be resolved by the International Court of Justice, an option supported by the UAE. In early 1996, Iran took further moves to strengthen its hold on the disputed islands. These actions included starting up a power plant on Greater Tunb, opening an airport on Abu Musa, and announcing plans for construction of a new port on Abu Musa. In the dispute, the UAE has received strong support from the GCC, the United Nations, and the United States. Although Iran remains a continuing concern for officials in Abu Dhabi, they have chosen not to escalate the territorial dispute. Iran is one of Dubais major trading partners, accounting for 20 percent to 30 percent of Dubais business.
These islands are a cherry and bargaining chip in any military action against Iran...in forging a durable alliance with UAE...You have swayed me to dig...and I found this...
I am listening...
Actually, I was trying not to embarrass you any more than necessary. But you wouldn't understand that.
Michael Savage is calling for you on line one!
And now you know how 98 percent of the Republican Party feels about Alan Keyes.
Name one shipping company from the landlocked country of Iran.
I will not trust the future of my country to greed, or for that matter any of the other evils on earth. I will trust my country to God, and to those who love and support her, and who will stand up and fight for her survival. I've never heard of such a thing as "trusting" in greed in my life.
As for your allegation that I'd prefer to fight or kill all muslims, that's your statement, not mine. Like most people on this earth I'd prefer peace if it were possible. But islam's 1,400 years of existence have clearly shown that it's not possible for we 'infidels' to live peacably alongside them; not then, not now. What I'd prefer is to have the American people take their heads out of the sand and recognize the problem for what it is. We are already at war with islam's deepest adherents, and there are millions upon millions of muslims who support the terrorists in various ways; financially, materially, morally, and in hating the Western world.
You claim that denying the UAE our ports would be "provocative", and you sound rather cowardly to me. The real provocation is the islamics of the world burning down Christian Churches, (Nigeria), beating Christians to death on the streets, (Nigeria), burning Crucifixes, (Turkey), beating Catholic priests to death, (Turkey), burning Western embassies, (Jordan), trashing and burning Western busniess concerns, (Pakistan), mobs of muslims from a dozen islamic nations carrying placards with death threats to America and Europe, building nuclear bombs and threatening to "wipe Israel off the map", (Iran), performing acts of terrorism all over the globe, (Philippines, Indonesia, India, Russia, America, Sudan, Egypt, you name it). THAT is provocation, not denying a simple busines deal to the wealthiest nation in the middle east, (per capita), the UAE.
This is really so juvenile.
Now, let us pause for a moment of silence for all of those screenames we have lost ......
in the pursuit of Bush bots!
HAR! Next time you come back under a new screen name, pick a more suitable one. Yours is hilarious because all you have sought to do here is divide.
You;re as much a conservative as Hillary Clinton.
Iran landlocked? Are you joking?
He is, and he does! :-) Godspeed!
Either shut up and go away, or play fair.
Don't think so. The Republicans one 02, 04, and 06 because of an active conservative base. A significant percentage of the base (yes - the ones who supported bush) are dumbfounded at his decisions of late. With these types of decisions being made, you really need to start wondering about his past decisions as well!
ROTFLMAO!
Your opinion, motivated by God knows what.
I don't think this deal amounts to anything at all, except a transfer of ownership.
Whereas, given the level of nonsensical rhetoric existent in the majority of this thread, I am not surprised at all at your presence given the content of this particular example. :-)
Embarass me how? Since when is stating a fact a reason to be embarassed?
What's embarassing is your continued lame attempt to trash that girl to save Alan's sorry butt.
