Think of all the puppy dog whale fetuses that could have been saved in the time it took that person to draft that ridiculous cartoon.

No matter who it is, no matter if it's the British, the French, the Germans, or even the Andorrans. They have to play by our laws.

Have you told Mexico about this?</ Sarcasm>

attempted to assassinate half of Congress

No, they just tried to kill Prime Minister Thatcher and over half of the House of Commons in Brighton.

I don't see how the potential for that changes. I think it's always there.

Of course, the British-owned company wasn't in charge of security either.

If I thought that there was a significant portion of American Catholics that wanted to discard the Constitution, and impose a theocracy upon their fellow citizens, and were willing to exterminate a good portion of the American public in order to fulfill those goals, then I would despise them just as fervently as I do Mohammedans, in spite of the fact that I was baptized into the Church.

You think American Muslims want to discard the Constitution and kill a significant portion of their fellow citizens?

You don't actually know any Muslims, do you?

They could abolish the Presidency itself, as long as they could get the ammendment approved

No, they couldn't.

I had skipped right past it earlier today. I was checking this thread and came across it by an ugly accident....lol.

So petty and childish.

How utterly disgusting and petty

The truth hurts doesn't it?...

Nothing to see here...just a little mess in aisle 5...please move along...pick up your soylent green and be happy...

All is (s)well with the republic with Bush in charge of border security and spending...

Or in the words of the Interminably Nauseating lap dog Hannity..."Not let your heart be troubled...your a great American...suck on this lollipop and watch the sunrise..."

this is the gateway to our Country...they should have NOTHING to do with it.

They aren't going to have anything to do with it now or in the future. DHS secures the ports.

Now I know what all the fuss is about. That picture is just about the funniest thing I've seen on this thread. Bravo!

If you caught Bill O'Reilly tonight, he dotted the i's and crossed the t's about Bush's motives. It makes sense to reward a country that's been extremely helpful to us in the war on terror regardless of the fact that two of the 9/11 murderers were from the Emirates. And in the Middle East as well as Asia, loss of face is a factor to be considered. However, we've already lost more than 3000 innocents. And if they were allowed to take control of these ports, our sensitive security measures/methods would certainly have to be shared. And who's to say that someone's lowlife/terrorist brother-in-law might not finagle a job at the Port of New York with the aim of blowing up something large? Weighing pros and cons, I fear the Arab Emirates have to understand that the world has changed, the US has to take the matter of border/port security more seriously than we did five years ago.

No, they couldn't.

Yes they could - a constitional ammendment trumps any other part of the constitution.

DHS secures the ports.

After having seen the condition of the southern border, that assurance doesn't exactly fill me with confidence...sorry.

The administration already tried suck up to the Islamists a couple of weeks ago when the danish muslim cartoons came out. The state department went out of their way to come out against the notion of a free press in order not to offend the muslims.

The message: our policy towards islamism is one of appeasement.

We are poised to give them Israel; why give them our ports also? /bitterness off

Keep the debate honest.

They didn't merely call for time to study the sale. Many called to kill it immediately by whatever means necessary. In response to that, he threatens a VETO. Which he's threatened to use on spending bills and never has.

I know this is probably going to get me labeled eventually, not necessarly by you, as a bot or for this sale which I have NO position on yet but some of the rhetoric being used by many on either end is irritating to say the least.

On one end everyone against this deal hates arabs. On the other end the President is a drunken shrub living in a bubble that is ready to sale this country to the terrorists. Excessive rhetoric to my mind.

Since I've been labeled both a bot and a Bush hater in past, depending on the issue, it'll be nothing new but would be nice if the hysteria subsided and a rational debate emerged so that this national discussion would end up serving a good purpose.

There are other ways to reward a county - maybe he could appoint one their citizens to the supreme court.

O'Reilly was, as usual, a walking logical fallacy.
