Mountain Brook High School graduate Natalee Holloway went missing May 30 during a senior trip to Aruba.

It's SO TRUE about perceptions of 'friendliness' in different regions.
Here in San Diego, it must be more like the South...
a smile tells strangers "I'm no threat and you look safe, too."
While visiting Maine last month, I couldn't believe how suspicious a friendly smile was received! The bigger the smile, the grimmer the grimace.
So I totally see what you're saying about Natalee's friendliness. It's not a come-on, it's cultcha!
The Twittys have been talking to alot of people on the island besides LE since they arrived. I'm sure they have a pretty good idea of what kind of "boys" these are.
"were you spinning about Deepak (21) and Croes (26), or what?
cutting thru the crap, your statement would have been better if you merely pointed out that JVDS is a minor.....and that all other are well beyond the age of majority in arube"
No I wasn't spinning - I was pointing out that those involved were YOUNG by any standard if you're over 40 .. and young people do STUPID things.. (and yes at times they do illegal things)
Some Islanders are saying that Natalee was gambling, drinking, hanging in a bar..etc., so she wasn't any better than Joran just because she was kicking up on vacation.
NOT MY OPINION...just giving their side of the story..I REPEAT..NOT MY OPINION!!!!!!!!
"THAT's where he heard the story about the boys dropping them at the Holiday Inn.."
Yeah, but I bet that was the same time Joran asked for a ride. This would mean they were cooking something up in advance. And that the Kalpoes are not innocent of the KNOWLEDGE, maybe just the PARTICIPATION.
Remember too, Deepak's mother said he 'didn't like them doing that in his car,' re: making out.
I still think too much was made by the boys of her being 'fall-down' drunk.
Yes I saw it - it was quite well done - I do wish he/she would have cited the source of the facts tho'. As well as backing up the Facts w/photos with the actual photos.

But, most people have picked up by now, that those "islanders" saying those things are defending the corrupt leftys in charge there.
I don't know where this discussion is going these days...in a circle, I imagine.
Gonna go do some hurricane watching now :)

She had roommates, and none of those roommates were concerned that she never came back to the room that night, nor that she wasn't there when they woke up in the morning, that herbed hadn't been slept in, and they weren't worried enough to immediately call one of the chaperones. The ONLY explanantion that is consistant is that Natalie had told them in advance not to expect her in the room that night..now whether or not she was a closet party girl, or if she was really the innocent naive girl as described who wanted to have an experience, a fling..the last night..kind of a "what happens in Aruba, stays in Aruba" event..then she might have wanted to experiment with alcohol/drugs/whatever....as many have said here..teens do stupid things....but to my recollection we haven't heard from the roomies to explain why they weren't worried when she didn't return that night, or in the morning..
The reason why I raisw this is that is therefor very easy to construct an alternate theory of the events..She's curious..has a fews drinks..many takes some offered drugs willingly..her judgement is somewhat impaired..as evidenced by the fact that she gets in a car with several strange guys...something 99% of girls know NOT to do...assume she goes off willingly with one of them..on the beach..sex occurs..maybe it was her first time..and investigators sahould be able to know with some certainty if she was a virgin, or even slightly experienced....because her best friends would probably know that..teen age girls talk to each other...so after..she's ashamed/embarassed/remorseful..take your pick..she freaks out..tells the boys to leave her alone..get away from her..so they pile in the car and go home..leaving her screaming on the beach..she decides to go into the water..to clean herself...not necessarily implying suicidal..she swims..gets disoriented..panics..drowns..body washes out..marine life can dispose of anything rapidly..and the currents scatter the bones...It's just as plausible as anything else...
Understanding WHY her roomates were NOT upset that she didn't return can, IMHO, give a much better chance to understand what might have happened on the beach. Once we know how her mind worked...we can better grasp what situatuon she might have allowed herself to get into..
with 1 exception (DJ Croes), the principals in this case are not native "arubians". Not the prosecutor, judges, or even the 2 black security guards the principals and the authorities tried to railroad.
P.S.
Nor is the VICTIM
Isn't THAT the truth! There seem to be more and more people willing to consider the brothers may not be as heavily involved with the K/M aspect now than there were several threads ago.
Or, any innocent person who just might have seen something. I would be loath to come forward under such a situation.

Actually I think it's far more likely that most everyone in their system is corrupt than the Kalpoe brothers are murderers. You might be right, but from what I've seen--from LE to media to parents to citizens--everyone seems to be afraid or unable to speak forthrightly. Since I don't understand that, I make assumptions (which may not be correct, either)! I doubt that they are as incompetent as they seem. I recently landed at the Amsterdam airport and was quite impressed at how organized and orderly everything there was (maybe that was just in contrast to Italy where I'd been). So I don't think they're incompetent. After reading how ex-Pres. Clinton had declared Aruba a concern in the drug route from S America, I'm more ready to see them as corrupt.
No need for tinfoil with that post Malichi. Makes perfect sense to me.

My impression exactly, which I have noted previously. The Aruban news reporters seem nervous and subserviant. Not like the US reporters - who have no hesitancy about criticizing the President, the Congress and our Law Enforcement.
There is something rotten in Aruba and the Arubans are not telling.
