Terri Schiavo's husband buried her cremated remains in a Clearwater cemetery Monday, inscribing on her bronze grave marker that ``I kept my promise.''
David Gibbs, an attorney for the woman's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, said inscribing the marker that way was a nasty political statement by Michael Schiavo, who held the service and burial Monday before telling her family.
``Obviously, that's a real shot and another unkind act toward a grieving mom and dad,'' Gibbs said.
After earlier announcing plans to bury his wife's ashes in their native Pennsylvania, Michael Schiavo instead interred them at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, near Tampa, his attorney, George Felos, said in a short news release Monday.

"The family basically accused him of negligent homocide and you don't understand why he's angry?"
O.J. Simpson was "angry" also.
For crying out loud, Michael. Dont you know that a gravestone is NOT ABOUT YOU!
Who does Michael think he is, EVITA?
What a bogus, bogus inscription Michael. You NEVER made such a promise to Terri, you LIAR.
"I kept my promise?" Guilt sure does make people do screwing things. This Schiavo character is nothing but a scumbag loser. I can't believe he had the gall to pull some ---- like this.
That can kinda sting a little bit."
Awwww, I'm crying buckets for MS.
If you are the parents and siblings of the one who is murdered, your suffering goes far deeper than a sting.
The promise to forsake all others until death?
Terri's gravesite will now become a place to pilgrimage to, and a shrine. Mark my words. Michael would have been better off not burying her in FL where all the "supporters" will now parade to, giving Terri no peace even in her grave. I hope this doesn't happen, but I bet it will.
Good for Michael, after all the crap slung at him by the know-nothings, he is moving on and getting over it.
Maybe her parents will get over it.
Of course. That's why he buried her in Florida and not at the family plot in Pennsylvania.
I wouldn't want to have a relative buried in that cemetary now. Can you imagine?
After what, eighteen years of Terri being a vegetable, he had no right to get on with his life?
;]
I guess you could say the oath to love her ,and to foresake all others, in sickness and health can't really be called a promise either....I don't want anyone to call me judgmental for goodness sake.
People here who had zero invested in the whole thing have yet to get on with their lives.
(I'm almost ashamed to think it)
Did he really bury her remains here?
Could he have just placed the marker there in Clearwater, as a "shrine" for those who wish to mourn her there (like her parents), and really took her remains to Pennsylvania where he originally intended to bury them?
His self serving" "I kept my promise" jab on the headstone speaks loudly of his mindset, not to mention his tastelessness.

Yep. No good will come from this.
He had the right to divorce her. Legally he could have done so any time three years after she became incapacitated.
She also had the right to a divorce. If she'd had an honest guardian, she would almost certainly have received one.
Nobody here is faulting Michael for wanting to get on with his life. Where we fault him is for his refusal to let Terri do likewise.
To claim that a married man who has not only slept with another woman, but fathered children by her and OPENLY PLEDGED TO MARRY HER should have any authority over his wife is to make a mockery of marriage.
Your Post #8 is the funniest thing I have ever read on FR. Tears are streaming down my face. Thanks for a good laugh; I needed that. LOL up the wazoo!!!!!!!!
Yes it did. You know there are records of who is buried in the cemetary. Of course, it could be a conspiracy with the sexton, the recorder of cemetary deeds, and the workers. LOL! Get a grip.
"Departed this earth" because Michael Schiavo had her killed. This is so sick it's almost funny. Are these people serious? LOL!!! Terri was killed by dehydration and starvation and Michael Schiavo has the nerve to put "beloved wife" on the tombstone? LOL!!! What a sick man.
It was a spiritual thing. The devil thinks he won this round but in the end, God will have the last laugh/word. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Who puts the word "I" on someone else's tombstone? This proves it was all about Michael. What an egomanical douche.
