An Open Letter to Mr. Jim Robinson
April/25/05 | jveritas

Posted on 04/25/2005 6:13:10 AM PDT by jveritas

What is happening to Free Republic Mr. Robinson? The Bush Haters and Republican Haters are getting louder and more daring by the hour. These phony conservatives who claim the Conservatism purity are savagely attacking President Bush and the GOP as bad as the worst liberals.

The Bash Bush feast is becoming a part of every thread. Everywhere you see Bush is a traitor, Bush wants to sell our sovereignty to Mexico, Bush is a liberal, Bush has no spine, Bush is destroying our economy, Bush is puppet in Vincent Fox hand, Bush is this Bush is that, everything wrong in this world is Bush fault.

Nothing but doom and gloom is coming from these phony conservatives. For them our economy is destroyed, liberals are controlling the government, the GOP will be finished by 2006, Mexico has invaded the US and changed its identity, China is superior to us, we are no more a superpower, and on and on and on. Every minor bump in the road is turned into a Mount Everest of catastrophe and disaster

Either Free Republic will remain the Premier political forum on the internet, a site to advance the real conservative cause and provide great and continuous support to our President Bush and the Republican Party, or it will be forum controlled by bitter and delusional phony conservatives who can never win on the ballot box, and come to FR to poison the atmosphere through their extreme kooky rhetoric and turn it into another Dummyland.

Enough is Enough.

The republican party is not a rubberstamp party. Just because a republican politician says something is good, etc, doesn't mean we're all mind-numbed robots who will just parrot the party line like the Dims. Many of you seem under the illusion that it should be otherwise.. that when Bush proffers something, we should all just adopt whatever he says and buy it without scrutiny. And many in that camp are more rabid than the anti-bush crowd you bemoan. I left the republican party and have made no bones about saying so. They're nothing more than a rubberstamp sellout america party just like the dims. They're just selling us out to people some happen to like and are making the ivory tower types rich in the doing. Fat dumb and happy.. just like King George. Stop trying to pull the wool and you won't be disappointed when people don't buy propaganda.

Not only did Reagan give amnesty to illegals, along with that amnesty was the law to fine employers of illegals.

Then at Reagan's funeral we all saw Bush 41, Clinton42,and Bush43 crying crocodile tears. Not a one has enforced the law as it was written and the same thing will happen again to the guest worker program.

You could learn something from post 592.

In this country, we have the freedom to hold and express complex views, something that probably does not exist in your country of origin. We are a nation of principles, not of persons. Worshipping any elected official could prove fatal to our freedom. Relax and enjoy the complexity.

There is one over-riding and primary reason that our troops are deployed in the Middle East, and that is for OUR national security. The other benefits (such as the liberation of Iraq) are secondary.

Agreed. However the secondary benefits are giving a lot of dividends in the Middle East.

PS: I will not reply to your insulting post #685.

Cheers.

You are apparently trying to stretch things a mite too far. President Reagan has been proved wrong about what the 1986 reform would accomplish. We'll never know what he thought of his amnesty's impact.

One hallmark of Reagan is welfare reform. It was key to his success as governor of California. There is no doubt in my mind that any immigration reform today, if Reagan were in charge, would include an end to government subsidies for migrant workers be they ILLEGAL or "guest workers."

Any plan of President Bush's will have to end subsidies for businesses' "cheap" labor.

Everyday here in California it's news of health care crisis, health insurance cost crisis, housing crisis, education crisis, state and local budget crises, highway and street maintenance crises, energy crisis, you name it -- and no one will ever convince me that the millions and millions of people who are not suppose to be here have no blame for our crises. Gov. Schwarzenegger attempted to address that recently (first time publically!) and he got creamed. This ain't 1986 no more.

Bottom line: Any plan of President Bush's will have to put an end to subsidies for businesses' "cheap" labor.

Can labor wages be regulated by the government? Yes.

However what is the wage that the government can put on fruits and vegetable picking, cleaning crews, busing table in restaurants, ect...? If the business decides to pay these folks minimum wage or slightly higher than minimum wages for the type of jobs mentioned above, can the government stop them from doing so?

I didn't insult you. But you know very little about this country yet you come on the Free Republic forum as though you are going to tell us something about our country. Your original post on this thread is an insult. You bashed at least 95% of FReepers at the start.

You're just another euro-weenie, coming to this country to enjoy the benefits of living here and bashing us at the same time.

And... you didn't look at post 592 ... and, if you did so, you could learn something.

What you lack are maturity, humility, respect and gratitude.

I am a single as well and have no children and I get the largest refund so far this year.<<<

I am married. SIngle people do not pay as much in taxes as married homeowners.

I dont care what you believe about my vote. I live in Texas, voted for Dubya Twice for Governor, voted for him twice as President, that does not mean I can not critisize him according to MY view of the world.

No where did I suggest the government set wages -- or even enforce its minimum wage laws for ILLEGAL or "guest" workers.

I said that the Bush plan must exclude the "guest workers" or whatever from any tax-supported benefits -- I will add -- except for emergency health care.

The children can attend school but everything will be in English. Anything extra has to be paid for by the "guest worker" parents.

If businesses can still attract a glut of workers then fine. Right now government is helping set wages by subsidizing the ILLEGAL workers' necessary expenses. No more! That's all I meant.

I just heard on my local talk show that the University of Texas has 280 ILLEGAL immigrants going to school there. In Texas there is a 10% law, which means that the top 10% of each graduating class automatically gets admittance to any Texas public university!

That means that some of the top 10%ers are NOT getting into school because they are running out of room and giving room to illegals via the Texas dream act!

just thought I would tell you what I heard

Gosh, where was everybody back in 2004? For that matter, back when George H.W. spoke of "The One World Order" and called us "the, uh, er, uh, regular people?

Did you think Dubya was not his father's son, another Establishment Man? Daddy is a big shot on the board of the equity gobbler, the Carlyle Group.

Where were you when Reagan and his "kitchen cabinet" planned and allowed farming conglomerates to swallow up the little guy's land? Didn't you know the majority of our food would eventually come from far, far away - cost more because of fuel prices to ship it in?

Do we really need under-ripe cantalopes and watermelons in December?

We are dependent on our past enemies for not only our food, but our clothing. And the trade deficit and money owed to the IMF will kill us!

Good-night. I hope everyone wakes up tomorrow.

...except for emergency health care.

The illegals know how to use and take advantage of the system and they are doing this on a daily basis. They cross the border for chronic diseases such as cirrhosis of the liver, chronic end stage renal disease. These people are usually not on deaths door but we still have to treat them. I spoke with a hospital social worker who said they can't turn them away just in case they died. This is the real reason that illegal aliens were added to the Medicare bill to the tune of $1 billion. Look for an increase in this amount soon as this is not enough money

"but nayyyyyyyyy, it's an illegal lecturing to US. Ha."

"A new green card immigrant who can't even yet vote, comes in and starts lecturing it's citizens on what constitutes conservatism, and how to be a good Republican Party member."

I'm nostalgic for posts worth mentioning again.
