For all of those who have called me every imaginable name because I dare to suggest that there are some things worse than death...I don't wish you on you anything that poor woman goes through on a minute by minute basis. Because you know so much, and are so sure that you are right because you are all so freakin self-righteous...I'm leaving FreeRepublic because I no longer want to be a part of something that has become so twisted. Hannity is right, this website has been hijacked. It was a good run...but we'll find another place. Save your jabs, I won't be reading them. To those who have privately agreed with me, and there are many, thank you. I'm just worn out and frankly, don't even care what most here think.
He killed his wife, her girlfriend and the girlfriend's boyfriend, their six-month-old daughter, their younger brother, a deputy sheriff and a state policeman.
Ricky Abeyta is getting three meals a day in a Texas prison as I type.
If anyone tried to prevent Ricky Abeyta from eating or drinking with the intent to kill him, that person would be subject to the most serious penalties under law.
For that matter, were any one of the inmates of the Abu Ghraib prison--or any prison foreign or domestic--be subject to the same isolation and confinement and sensory deprivation as Terri Schiavo has been subjected to by Michael Schiavo and Judge Greer, Ted Kennedy would be on every news channel and a motion to impeach the president would be pursued with such a vengeance as has never been seen in the halls of of congress.
There are reasons why Michael Schiavo must not be enabled by Judge Greer in the former's attempt to murder and rob Terri Schiavo.
Oh my, it isn't such a pretty case of simply "removing the feeding tube"--no, it's considerably darker than that.
I'm having to go through that with my 87-year old Grandmother. She's gotten to the point she cannot drive a car. She nearly killed three people before the Highway Patrol wrote up an order to take her license away. This is the same Grandmother who has loved me all my life, a devout Christian, who lashes out at me with expletives if kindly remind her to take her high blood pressure and diabetic pills or offer to take care of the household chores or wash my own clothes.
Well, now I get. Terri has been well represented. Clear as day, thanks.
You've never asked until now.
'This procedure'. Interesting euphemism for withholding food and hydration from a helpless person until they die a horrible death.
...'is the protection of Terry's rights'??
How Orwellian.
As did the Germans in the 30's and 40's.
Only problem is, their 'law' was a violation of the fundamental God-given unalienable rights of human beings.
Not unlike those despots in black robes in America today who have become a law unto themselves.
I'll bet there are more that are fearful of the plug being pulled too soon rather than not soon enough.
Remember, these people did go there FOR THEIR HEALTH. They could have stayed up North and died sooner if that's what they really wanted.
Fantastic argument tactic.
[Sarcasm]
They're your words.
All I did was quote 'em and comment on 'em...
And people who only read the headlines during Clinton's impeachment thought that was about sex.
So much for silly polls.
You can be assured I won't be flying a kite because of the euthanasia crowd telling me to do so.
I know, I made that argument yesterday.
You turned it into a euthanasia protocol.
Mistakenly, I might add.
Nah. This has gone beyond that.
The 'agree to disagree' copout doesn't cut it anymore.
You either support the unalienable right to life, or you don't.
The sides are lined up for life or for death, for law or lawlessness.
There can be no in between position.
And those lining up on the side of killing the innocent can't bear the title 'good people'. Sorry.
Actually, it's not been 15 years as she was eating by mouth but I'm not on my computer and don't have the info saved on this machine. Terri was put on a feeding tube for the convenience of the nurses. It was ordered by Michael Schiavo.
Those who wish to keep the feeding tube in says physical therapy might help.
If this is the case why didn't the courts issue that as a requirement years ago. It is unforgivable that anyone missed this.
The feeding tube is inserted only at mealtimes. The court has repeatedly failed Terri and I don't know why. Judge Greer being legally blind may have something to do with it as he can't read briefs. I guess they're read to him.
Oh, I know the state will, and the state will foot the bill.
Michael Schiavo put Terri on Medicaid sometime ago but he and his girlfriend of 10 years both drive Mercedes, hers is black and his is silver.
Now they say there is abuse and ask for 60 days. Why the hell did this not get reported long ago? Was it a ploy to get the extension? It is disturbing.
It was first reported 15 months after her "accident" and was investigated more recently but Judge Greer sealed it. That DCF investigator recommended pursuing the case but everything was sealed.
They are older. Should they win then who becomes the guardian?
Missed this one. Terri's brother and sister have stepped up to the plate and will care for her when and if necessary. They are both involved now.
I hope I haven't angered you. I only tried to give some answers.
Also BTW- It is unacceptable that people called you names. Still, you have been here about 7 years. You know (or should know) that Freerepublic may be at times volatile. A 7 yearer should be prepared. Hope I haven't been too hard on you.
Add to my post. ...leave her with her parents OR her brother or sister.
Bump!
Your personal wishes don't cut it.
