Bush Administration Expresses Confidence in Annan

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The Bush administration has confidence in U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan and is not calling for his resignation, U.S. Ambassador John Danforth said on Thursday.

Several Republican congressmen have called for Annan's resignation, accusing him of presiding over corruption in the U.N. oil-for-food program for Iraq, administered by the United Nations but supervised by the 15-nation Security Council.

But Danforth said he was representing the opinion of the White House and the State Department in supporting Annan.

"We are expressing confidence in the secretary-general and his continuing in office," Danforth told reporters.

"No one to my knowledge has cast doubt on the personal integrity of the secretary-general. No one," Danforth said. "We have worked well with the secretary general. We anticipate working with him in the future."

That's because Mommy found out that he was playing with her computer again!

So she dragged him off and sent him to his room!

"Actually Islam itself is a religion of peace, if you study it. Evil interpretations have made many religions of peace into genocidal wars...even Christianity. Read about the crusades."

If you're hoping to derive a shred of credibility with this post, let me save you the trouble -- you have NONE.

LOL!

Everybody's been telling me that about the crossed fingers.

I gotta find my fuzzy slippers.

I think they might still be in a box.

Depending on how quick we get things done, and whether or not I can stop my hands from shaking, I'll do the Party Friday night.

( Besides, the Mods are usually a little more tolerant of that sort of thing of a Friday)

IF I'm just too shot, I'll do it Saturday night.

I'll be sure to ping you.

You have no credibility. I have friends who are followers of Islam, and they are in the Air Force with me, and they fought in this war very, very enthusiastically! They are outraged that their religion has been smeared by these extremist. You are the one without credibility!

Sometimes I wonder????

GW praises Kofi Annan; corruption at the UN?

GW praises BillyBob Clinton; former corruption in the Whitehouse?

GW praises Islam; terror to our country?

GW supports Arlen Specter; avowed pro-abortionist?

GW wants to legalize illegal aliens to help the economy in the northern counties of Mexico?

Sometimes, I wonder why I voted the way that I did?

But then again, the names Gore and Kerry are still fresh in my memory!!!

"I have friends who are followers of Islam, and they are in the Air Force with me...You are the one without credibility!"

I don't care if you and your "friends" are in the White House.

There's NO digging out of your statement and the lack of credibility that comes with it: "Actually Islam itself is a religion of peace, if you study it."

Are you at ALL famililiar with the Koran?

As a matter of fact I have the Koran. I am familiar with it. I must admit I am no expert. I take it you are? I've read enough to know that its teachings are wrong, but peaceful. And I know devoted followers who are loyal members of the military and trustworthy friends of mine. So frankly your ignorant spewing makes me sick.

"I've read enough to know that its teachings are wrong, but peaceful."

FYI:

The fascist, warlike nature of Islam is embodied in the concept of holy war, or jihad. In Islam, humanity is divided into two groups, the umma (Muslims) and the Harbi (non-Muslims). The umma reside in the Dar al-Islam (the Land of Islam) and the Harbi live in the Dar al-Harb (the Land of Warfare). All acts of war are permitted in the Dar al-Harb. The ultimate goal is to stretch the boundaries of the Dar al-Islam over the entire globe. The Koran therefore instructs Muslims:

9.5-6.: "Kill those who join other gods with God wherever you may find them."

4.76.: "Those who believe fight in the cause of God."

8.12.: "I will instill terror into the hearts of the Infidels, strike off their heads then, and strike off from them every fingertip."

Muslims are told that those who perish while fighting a jihad will receive eternal rewards:

4.74.: "Let those fight in the cause of God who barter the life of this world for that which is to come; for whoever fights on God's path, whether he is killed or triumps, we will give him a handsome reward."

On August 23, 1993 the United Press International news service reported on an interrogation of Siddig Ibrahim Siddig Ali, one of the suspects in the World Trade Center bombing. During the questioning, Ali was asked what the significance of the Koran and Islam was in these attacks:

"Of course, don't forget God said in the Koran, in times like this, everything is lawful to the Muslim, their money, their women, their honors, everything. I give you as example [Egyptian President Hosani] Mubarak, a tyrant. He is killing people, good Muslims. We'll be called sinners in the eyes of God if we don't do something about it [he gives a quote from the Koran] ...infidels must be killed....and the Muslim when he dies it is the way to heaven. He becomes a martyr. A Muslim will never go to hell by killing an infidel."

It is irrefutable fact that whereever Islam is a force in the world, there NO PEACE. However there IS murder, mayhem, war, and inequity.

Btw, are you an "Infidel," Jay?

Your Muslim friends may be decent and good, but their religion is NOT the "Religion of Peace."

its totally inappropriate to compare the war in iraq with how we dealt with germany and japan. i know we were taught in school that we were supposed to be nicer to germany after ww1 so we are to blame for ww2 but thats bull. lasting empires dont set up the countries they defeat with better infrastructure and overall system of government than was there when they first arrived and then leave them alone. its pointless anyway because we arent going to be able to overcome the influence of islam. the war on islam needs to be won before we start transforming them into civilized people. asking muslims to adopt a democracy with freedom and human rights is like asking a christian to support abortion and paganism. its just not consistent with their beliefs.
