No, it was the evil that perpetrated the behavior, and yes I am basing it on Old Testament scripture, because that is where The Ten Commandmants reside. The Old Testmant contains the rules, the New Testament is how we get redemption when we break the rules.
I also do not pretend to know what is in the mind of God,but I have my faith, and I believe this fight started 20,000 years ago, or more, and we are the last stand.
Was it Seth that God ordered to go kill all the Cannanites, all of them, kill their dogs, their goats, wipe them out, or they would become a thorn in the side of his descendants.
Punishment is God's job. He only wants to punish those that do evil, or refuse to acknowledge His power. But His primary message is one of salvation and forgiveness.
The god the terrorists are killing people in the name of is NOT the God of the Founding Fathers, nor is it the God I thank as often as I can.
I don't think you understand Christianity or the Bible. Those Old Testament verses you cite were the law, yet when the adulterous woman was brought before Jesus -- whom Christians consider to be Christ, God incarnate -- what did He command?
the one (made by many Christians) that Christ's forgiving of a single adulterous woman does not prevent Christians from punishing adultery
That's incorrect. Christians are not freed from the law because of this one instance. So why is that Christians are freed from the laws specified in the OT? And what is the core difference between Christians and muslims and jews?
Free Will...Free Will....Free Will
We all have a choice. It's God's gift and His test of our faith. I can hate the sin, and not hate the sinner.
The Islamofascists do not believe in that concept. Their philosophy is locked into a mind-set that all Christians and Jews are evil, and therefore must be destroyed. They make no allowances for conversion, nor will they be converted. If you convert to Islam, (in the minds of the terrorists) you are merely assuring that you will be saved and they will still kill you. I do not kill those who do not believe as I do, nor do I expect anyone to kill me for not believing their religion. That is the difference.
The wanton slaughter of innocents merely because they are Christians or Jews, or other than Muslim, is evil.
IT IS EVIL no matter how you slice it.
What's so ironic about it? I wasn't aware that this thread was devoted to convincing us all Muslims are evil.
It started with a posting on sexuality in Islam, and went to the reasons why Muslim men treat their women as property.
That stems from a basic selfishness, which stems from pride, which is a sin, the ORIGINAL SIN, committed by Lucifer, who thought he was better than his Creator, and set out to place himself above God. The tapes I have been able to watch show a group of individuals who are placing themselves above God, and committing acts only Lucifer would take delight with.
Lucifer's goal is to take over.
"Whoever is without sin cast the first stone? I don't think so.
The fact remains that in the past, Christians and Muslims both have stoned women to death, with the full support of their respective clergy.
I haven't checked your links but stoning has not been generally considered a Christian punishment.
Look, nations professing Christianity have done some pretty brutal things but when doing so it is usually the Old Testament that is invoked albeit the respect for authorities commanded in the New Testatment can also be used.
Adultery is merely one of dozens of ways in which Christianity and Islam parallel each other. Why not speak as to some of the others?
Adultery, based on the posted article, clearly does not parallel. The differences are much more important. The founder of Islam is Mohammed who advocated a church-state and legalism. Chirst advocated a separation and faith.
So when Christ said, "Get thee behind me, Satan" he was talking to himself. Oh, now you're going to tell me the translations were screwed up.
2 Thes 2:9
"Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie"
Rev 12:7-9
"And war occurred in Heaven, Michael and his angels making war against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels made war, but they did not have strength, nor was a place still found for them in Heaven. And the great dragon was cast out-
the old serpent being called the Devil and Satan, he deceiving the whole habitable world-was cast out onto the earth, and his angels were cast with him."
Satan, Lucifer, the devil are the same entity. Although, there are some who believe they are different beings.
The best trick the devil ever pulled was convincing people he didn't exist.
And I didn't say Muslims were evil. I said we are dealing with evil. Humans are not inherently evil, they become evil through the power of Satan. Hitler wasn't Muslim, but he was evil. Torquemada wasn't Muslim but he was evil.
Killing in the name of religion is evil.
Killing because of religion is evil.
Killing is Satan's tool, not God's.
Perhaps you'd like me to list the names of some of the rebel angels who violated God's rule about consorting with the humans they were supposed to be watching over?
You probably don't believe that story either. I'm sure you'd be hard to convince that God destroyed their home and banished them all to Earth,
"Enoch, thou scribe of justice, go, announce to the watchers of heaven, who have left the high heaven and the holy , eternal place, and have contaminated themselves with women... your (the fallen) petition will not be granted in all the days of the world [...]
from now on ye will not ascend into heaven to all eternity, and upon earth, it has been decreed, they shall bind you for all the days of the world [...] bind them under the hills of the earth...till the day of their judgment and of their end"
Until that day in the wilderness, when Satan tried to tempt Christ he had been allowed to remain on Earth in his physical form. At that moment, Satan was bound in Heaven "behind God's Throne", but his spirit was free to roam and tempt and make mischief.
My point is, God is always about forgiveness, no matter how badly you screw up. You will still have to be judged, but renouncing satan and returning to God, will get you a better shot at salvation.
God only wants to punish Satan and his followers. He's set him up and we are the bait, and this time, this age, is the last one.
I don't think you know what your point is.
What you appear to be claiming is that Christianty encourages violence, or that Christianity justifies the use of violence to the same degree as Islam.
"Far more people have been killed in the name of Christ than Allah. Simple, undeniable, undisputed fact."
Unless you can come up with a number larger than 26 million, I dispute your claim.
Thats about how many Jews were killed between 1918 and 1945.
They weren't killed in the name of Christ or Christianity.
They were killed because they were Jews.
