A 24-foot-long ''Go Bush" banner hanging on a pizza shop across from the FleetCenter has drawn plenty of attention amid preparations for the Democratic National Convention this week. But yesterday, a city inspector stopped by and slapped Halftime Pizza with a citation for hanging an unlicensed banner.

I believe Uncle Sam would not hesitate one moment to flip off a left-wing bureaucrat who fined a smallbusinessman for the content of his free speech.
The owner shut down for the duration of the convention, I believe. Try back in August.
Perhaps area FReepers could go there to guard that business and the sign (If it's still up).
You folks just KNOW what might happen when the leftwing kookburgers arrive....
I do not use profanity - ever - nor do most of my friends. None of us would ever give anyone the finger.
I am often confronted with a situation where I would really like to send them articles from FR, but some folks with no concern about other folk's sensitivity put, IMHO, profanity laced comments or racial comments into their replies. That makes it hard for me to send articles that I consider worthwhile.
I am not censoring anyone. Others are free to do as they wish, but it would be nice if folks would try to realize that other people are not all potty mouths. No offense intended, but if the shoe fits...
I don't think it's appropriate either.
Randall, the pizza shop is right across from the Fleet Center and the entire area is closed down except by convention goers. So it should be alright because it's in a highly secured area unless.......
As for the owner he took off for Canada & vacation for the duration. Hell be back next week.
I hope he starts selling merchandise, like bumper stickers, mugs, etc.
Go for it.
RE 104:
Probably not a bad idea.
On the Howie CARR show Thursday(?) Mr. Pasquale related as to how he had already recieved several lucrative offers for the sign when he is done with it, as it seems to have become a "collectable" of some potential historical significance.
So not only is it "offensive" to the libs, but it might be worth a fair amount of money to someone.
That would make it's survival of this Convention, especially given it's location, somewhat questionable if not heavily guarded 24/7. And I rather doubt that the Mayor or the Chief of Police would mind very much if "something happened to it" some night.
Soon.
By the way, is all this angst about the Uncle Sam birdie really a legitimate moral debate, or a stink-bomb/smoke screen being put up by a few DU trolls who would rather this thread devolve into a flame-a-thon and degenerate to the point where admins have to take it down, as it is embarrassing to said troll's true cause?
Have we seen this strategy employed before? I think we have.
Don't take it personal now, kids; just wondering.
Your rebuke is misdirected, and your comment should be removed.
Given the nature of the graphic that was posted, I would be very surprised and very disconcerted if Jim Robinson would countenance a public admonition such as the one you posted.
MA Freepers should have a Pizza party at the Halftime........PING
You've been around since '99 and call Tallhappy a DU troll? Get a life.
I agree with you, no need to get profane, that's the same as giving up the moral high ground. Kinda like Roseanne's National Anthem crotch grab.
No need to be jealous, if you can't be in Boston in person you can always drop by at http://www.wickedgood.info/ to give our libs hell.
PS most of the libs in Boston are imports, square pegs from around this great nation of ours.
Oh, I barely have time to take on the lefties at the Protest Warrior message boards...
This is a rediculous comment.
"you should use your original FR name,"
I will use my original FR name when you use your original FR name.
"You've been around since '99 and call Tallhappy a DU troll?".
Not really; like I said - "just wondering", that's all.
Like some High School kids I've worked with; they might not actually BE sucking in a lot of cannabis sativa l. on a regular basis, but some of them sure do a pretty good impression of someone who is.
Since '99 as you might imagine, I've seen a fair amount of the games that are played on this and other such forums.
And I know how to check profiles and posting logs as well as you do... but I just didn't bother to in this case, since I was just only wondering, you see.
UJ, still wondering in ME
