I am originally from the south-I mean my ancestors were North Georgian landowners and fought for the Confederacy. Now living in Southern Illinois I find it heartening to see many young Southern Illinois highschool boys driving around with the flag of Dixie on their trucks and cars.

sorry for the dupe... but the reason why I don't get into too many debates about the WBTS is because I don't have enough info. Now I suggest you find out the difference between those who use this issue/topic of discussions for 'other agendas' and those who are all about 'heritage and not hate'.

I've proved it every time I have joined these posts. This is the part where your fanaticism comes in. I just got bored with doing it.
It's like I am talking to someone that insists the earth is flat. You patiently explain all the reasons the world is round and the persons comes back with "No it isn't. Prove it." again.
Finally I just put the words of the Confederate Davis and Stephens on my about page and left it at that. The South lost. Get over it.

The South today looks great. Don't mistake my comments about neo-confederates and klansmen with my thoughts about the South. I also don't have issue with those who are proud of their ancestors or their fight in the Civil War. That is different from those that want to "Free dixie" today. My posts are against the fringe elements that deny slavery as the primary cause, not the only one, but the primary cause of the civil war.
The Muslim countries of today that have slavery are what these people would want for the South. Their hollow posts about slavery naturally fading away, and that it wasn't that bad, notwithstanding. To give credence to that attitude is to tacitly acknowledge racial superiority rather than merits of character and action.
