Who loves you tiggs,:)
tiggs,I wasn't askin I was telling:)
According to the story, this idiot's daughter is the one who BROUGHT the bracelets to school to sell, and is spreading the word about their 'meaning'!! She picked it up in the neighborhood, NOT at the Catholic School.
What a twit this woman is!!
We used to date Protestant girls because they could take the pill....
I remember those bracelets back in the '80s. We didn't have any sexual meanings to them. I remember the girls would often wear a lot and the boys would twine two together. I still remember seeing Rick Schroeder wearing them on Silve Spoons. They looked really silly. I remember my step-grandma getting me some as a present, but I never wore them. I was never into fads.
Well, give it a couple of weeks. The Genie is out of the bottle.
Yep, and the mother and daughter were on Scarborough Country the other night talking about the "outrage" of the daughter being asked not to return to the school next year. But Chaunce Hayden, one of the guests on the same segment called them out about it!
http://nydailynews.com/front/story/197425p-170378c.html
"Something stinks about this story," Hayden erupted after Megan Stecher, her mom, Michelle, and sex doctor Drew Pinsky had their say. "Shame on all of us."...."First of all, how did this story first become public? It was a story in the New York Post," Hayden seethed. "You have this young 11-year-old girl posing with these bracelets, holding them up. Now, no offense to the parents, but something is wrong with that. Something is wrong with calling the New York Post, having a photographer come down and take a photo of your 11-year-old daughter to show these sex bracelets."
Hayden continued: "This is ridiculous! This child is going on a press tour! We're dragging this kid around on TV! It's absolutely, absolutely amazing!"
Anyhow, what happened next this just goes to show how bad Scarborough Country has gotten: the show apparently has banned Hayden from appearing on the show again! Hayden summed up the ridiculousness of this story, and he gets banned for telling the truth. Unbelievable.
The genie is indeed out. I read this thread before going to bed last night. This morning over cornflakes, I saw the black band on my 13 year old son's arm. Instead of flipping out (as is my wont), I quietly nodded at the bracelet and asked him who the "lucky" girl was. He feigned innocence while turning six shades of purple. Then I quietly told him what I knew about the meaning of the bracelets, especially the black one, and asked him if he remembered WWJD. He removed the bracelet, brought it right to the garbage can and apologized to me. He then went into the other room and gave his mom a big hug. She was both surprised and glad to have the hug. I'll tell her tonight what it was about.
Good for you. This whole story is unbelievable.
I sent this article to my wife and she talked to my daughter last night, she no longer wants to wear them.
We dont think she had any idea what they might be about. And seemed disgusted with the idea, thank goodness.
We used to flip quarters in school, odd man wins. Many times I lost my lunch money. But even that was later in junior high. In elementary we just all just stood around and looked goofy or chased each other over the playground in our free time.
The parental Inquisition was successful last evening.
