I'm not very into the Kumbayya crowd. Their passive aggressive is just as emotional, but they think they are above others with it. Bump

Always for my troops! Bush made me cry when he flew onto that ship. Bush made me cry at Thanksgiving visiting our troops. Bush made me cry abandoning our border's and caring more about Mars too.

Liberalism is even more ugly in the GOP than it is in the donkey party And the frightening part is it may be beginning to be more rampant.

A political party which ignores the wishes of its constituents has no long term future, regardless of how it might it perform in the short run. My guess is a much watered down version of Bush's prgoram will be adopted if we persist. I know your right but Bush's intent was not noble

Ummm... sorry, but mentioning Christianity and even praising it does not, by any means whatsoever, mean someone has been eternally saved by Jesus Christ. You are being dishonest and I am about to disengage with you unless you come clean. I won't tolerate your dishonesty. I repeat the quotes which very clearly says Washington WAS A CHRISTIAN - anyone can see that what they say, and also see that you are denying words that are in black and white:
"He was a sincere believer in the Christian faith and a truly devout man." John Marshall, Sec. of State, Chieef Justice of the Supreme Court.
"I should have thought it the greatest heresy to doubt his firm belief in Christianity." Washington's adopted daughter.
According to his adopted daughter and John Marshall, your claims about Washington are heresy. I didn't even list quotes from David Ramsay (surgeon in the Cont. Army) who wrote a biography of Washington and demostrated beyond doubt Washington's Christian faith.
Gov. Morris? Gov. Morris was also a devout Christian by his own words. I have the quotes to prove it from the man himself.
You are not ready to debate this honestly, so just go away. I'me done with you.

How do you define a Christian? Can you show me one quote from George Washington where he says Jesus Christ was not only God but his personal Lord and Savior, please?

The evidence form him and his contemporaries was overwhelming - he was a Christian. His upbringing from his mother was Christian, he conducted his life as a virtuous Christian, and all those who knew him said he was a Christian. You have no basis for questioning it other than your pride. His prayer book is further proof. He prayed to Jesus Christ. Just because he didn't make any explicit statements that Jesus was God is hardly sufficient justification for you to say he wasn't a Christian (and you did say it) in view of the evidence. His life and his conduct and his speeches are all prima facie evidence of a love of Jesus Christ. There is nothing about his life that would suggest he held any heterodox beliefs. His closest advisors were also devout Christians (Hamilton, Marshall, etc.). You have provided ZERO basis whatsoever for your assertion that:
"But not a Christian by any means (especially his own admission)." . In fact, my quotes have refuted it, and you have tried to change your statement after I exposed its falsehood. Where is your proof for this statement - you have none! Next time, you should have evidence to back up your claims about founding fathers because I am armed to the teeth with quotes from almost all of them.
"Sir, Washington was a Deist."
Washington's own words prove this to be a lie. Deists don't pray and deists don't believe God interferes in the affairs of men. Now, go reread Washington's quote form his Inaugural address that I gave you. Then tell me he's a deist. This quote is refuted in spades by Washington's own words!

"Yes, if we just put our trust in Bush and the U.S. govt., everything will be okay. Not. People had better start trusting God -the govt. can't save them from terrorists or anything else. 9/11 proved that. Our founding fathers trusted God to win the victory in the Revolution and gave God credit for the victory as can be seen in Washington's farewell address, Franklin's call to prayer speech at the Constituitonal convention, and the National Day of Fasting and Prayer that was proclaimed the day after the Bill of Rights was ratified."
Have you been properly authorized to maintain my political attitude?
.

I don't know, I think they usually get absentee ballots, not sure. I haven't heard him mention anyone else when I talk to him. He usually says something like: "the partys are all the same and the country is going to hell anyway, so who cares."

If you want to press the point, I have four huge volumes at home full of evidneces of Washington's Christianity from David Ramsay, Washington Himself. I can overwhelm you with so much evidence, it will make your head spin. Furthermore, the public libraries contain 97 volumes of Washington's own writings on everything under the sun. I can probably pull hundreds of quotes from those.
And if you want to dispute the Christianity of 95% of the rest of the founding fathers, I can provide evidence for their faith as well. Unlike today, the Congress used to be chock full of Christians.

Not one single quote about Jesus Christ as God and his Lord and Savior. I'm wondering, exmarine, do you even make that claim?

KPFA garbage. You know, the 94.1 ultra ultra liberal thing. Luckily I have never heard that station. I can barely stand KGO anymore.

Not one single quote about Jesus Christ as God and his Lord and Savior. I'm wondering, exmarine, do you even make that claim? Read my profile on this website and see. You know how to do that don't you?
Jesus Christ is the God-man. God manifest in human flesh (1Ti 3:16, John 1:1,12-14), the 2nd Person of the Holy Triune God, who lived the perfect life for me (that I can't live as a lawbreaker), and suffered and died as he paid the penalty for my sins that I would otherwise have to pay. My faith is in Jesus Christ as my Savior since I know I can never earn or deserve eternal life on my own (being a lawbreaker and all). I am His and He bought me at a great price, and my desire is to abide in Him and live a Holy life IN ALL I DO (INCLUDING MY VOTE) out of gratitude and love for Him who first loved me. Faith alone by grace alone in Christ alone.
Now, I don't think you want to continue a discussion with me about the faith of our founding fathers because I have numerous resources and you are at a disadvantage.

Since you want to press your point, I will force you to provide evidence for your assertion which I will repeat again:
"But not a Christian by any means (especially his own admission)."
Evidence - now. His own admission eh? Give me Washington's quote where he made such a statement!
