Well, I don't know what to say. Connie left and called me all kinds of names on the way out and accused me of being unprincipled, dishonest and in over my head and all sorts of similar things. Brian left and basically did the same thing. Navigator, Mojo & Co, left and spent years bashing Jim and FR. Lucianne called me a "mean shit." Drudge pulled his link to FR because we're so bad. And hundreds of trolls and assorted bannees have said the same thing. The Washington Post, the LATimes, the City of Fresno Human Relations Commission, Peace Fresno, and liberals and anarchists the world over have attacked me and called me all kinds of names and accused me of all sorts of ugly things.
Now Joe.
Guess it must all be true. LOL

Distractions, distractions, distractions. Ah...for the Prodigy days (when I was a lurker, LOL)
Really this was too much for me to play with at the moment...I'm too busy helping to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America.
And having fun doing it...HOO YAH!
As far as I can see the only statement in the ramble I agree with was something about FR growing too big....really it's grown bigger than any of us can imagine or hope to cope with, and I consider that a Good Thing.

Memo to all, as some other FReeper once said:
Jim's house;
Jim's rules.
PS: Wipe your feet
Bottom line, if someone doesn't like Jim's rules, they can always try to start their own FR. GFL! :~)

The sad thing is, if I'd only ran the board the way Navigator and Mojo wanted me to, none of this would ever have happend. Well, no, if I'd only ran it the way One Who Knows and Arator wanted it run, none of this would've happened. Oops, or perhaps had I run the board the way Clinton's A Liar and Clarity wanted it run, none of this would've happened. Hmmmm.... well, to be sure, had I only run it the way BADJOE wanted me to run it, then FOR SURE none of this would've happened. Well... come to think of it, every day my email box is chock full of suggestions on how I should REALLY run this website.
FR. It had so much promise. Now it's nothing but chopped liver.
So sad.

Having known it was coming I bothered to read the entire rant. What a complete waste of time.

I do not know Jim Rob. He may be a very nice guy and he may be a jerk, for all I know. However, he has provided this forum and for that I am grateful.
I am sorry that there are some bad things going on behind the scenes, but that does not change the fact that he has given us the Free Republic forum and I will support him for that.
I hope that the divisions between Jim Rob and Badjoe can be healed. I will continue to support FR regardless of that outcome.

...well damn...As an Orange County Freeper I have attended meetings at BadJoes home. That guy lived and breathed Free Republic and the message it stands/stood for. As usual, politics sucks.

The mods do a great job, I have been on the receiving end of their moderating and although sometimes I disagree with what they have done, feel they do a good job.
As far as MAF and Dales go, I'm sure they are following your guidelines, or they would have been booted from moderating.
That being said, I still believe that mods should not be a secret (we see how well that has worked), and that they should be rotated from an in-house list of qualified FReepers that are willing to help and finally, while they are Moderators they should be prohibited from posting under their screenname, or from creating a secondary screenname for posting while wearing the moderator badge.
To me, a moderator is a referee, to allow the ref to play, and play as an unidentified ref, is not fair, and only creates a feeling of bias.
But the folks that are doing it now, do a great job and should be thanked, not slammed.
To: Jim Robinson
My conclusions:
1. Unless Badjoe has more intelligence than his writing shows, I don't know how he ever expected to get into medical school. The paragraph where he insults the intelligence of the moderators is laughable, considering how stupid some of his writing makes him appear.
2. Badjoe really, really dislikes MsAntiFeminazi.
3. It sounds as if Badjoe wanted to run the Forum, and when JimRob wouldn't let him, he decided to take what few marbles he had in the game and go home. When everyone else kept playing without him, he got really mad, and went back to spit in the ring where everyone else was playing.
Badjoe's first tantrums on FR seemed childish and unreasonable to me, and this one doesn't change my opinion of his behavior at all.

Well, this is all too bad. It is true that many of the most interesting Freepers are gone and there is less 'research' than there used to be, but I think a lot of that has to do with the fact Clinton is no longer President.
I don't go along with the new FR=Republican Party Annex and I haven't been banned yet.

I made an interesting discovery over on their site this last week - for the cause of
possessing a contrary opinion and simply
posting material supporting my position - they enforced a
word limit on my account -
- how's that for a site that splintered off from here under the pretense of 'more liberty' for those wanting to 'discuss' various subjects?
Hypocrtitical to the nth degree I say ...
For all the ruckus I have created over here on FR, Jim, I have never been banned for my position on an issue ...
