THANKS TONS. MUCH APPRECIATE THE UPDATE ON THAT.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Thanks much.

No, I don't know much at all about such details. I don't keep caught up with the part time work and watching Alzheimer's mother duties that I'd like to as it is.

FR is a very helpful part of my sanity/healthy insanity; course work on occasion and handouts to those perhaps worth it. But I don't know much at all about the inner workings; 'deeper truths' etc. of FR. Have been around a lot longer than my sign-up date implies. But have never been anything near, nothing remotely near to an insider.

I was a bit surprised that Google didn't search FR and am delighted that it does work with FR. I tend to take people at face value--and what they say at face value unless I learn otherwise.

Thanks for helping me learn otherwise.

The Terri threads.

What a terrible tragedy.

I feel for Terri and her family, but I avoid those threads like the plague.

This situation has brought to light some serious problems with Florida laws, and what a lot of people here fail to understand, is that the only thing that we may be able to do about this case, is to vow that this woman's death will not be for naught, and stage a full-frontal assault on the laws that allowed her husband to do this.

Unfortunately, it seems that it takes a tragedy like this to "light a fire" under our collective butts, it would be infinitesimally more tragic, if we fail honor Terry's memory, and celebrate her life by changing the laws in this State.

I have had several names.

You shouldn't feel any need to apologize for that. ;-)

How many more ways must it be said?

At least one more way that begins to make sense.

Sorry kid.. I have no problems with understanding the issue as posted at #567.. At that point you claimed to have made sense of it..

Now you don't. -- This is your problem, not mine. ,

I was banned from a forum once. My offense? I addressed someone by their screen name. (Guess where THAT was! LOL)

I thought, "Gee, that was bizarre. What an uptight ____." My very closest friends here probably didn't even know that had ever happened to me. It just wasn't a major event in my life, and I didn't spend the next week, let alone the next year, obsessing about it.

Some people never get over it, I guess. When you realize that most of us are between 30 and 65, it's even harder to wrap your mind around that fact.

Well, for Pete's sake......I didn't even see this yesterday AND I did a search.

Jim....you just go and do whatchagottado...this is YOUR forum, we are YOUR guests, and I don't really care about all the sour grapes from some people.

So there.

I understand the problem just fine. My point, which you seem unable to grasp, is that the problem isn't new.

Hey Leni, I sympathize - I really do. SOme of those new posters on teh Shiavo Threads are doing nothing but launching personal attacks against anyone who doesn't immediately say "Yes sir!" to them. It's almost creepy...

The Hugh Akston name has been closed down, for a long, long time. I don't post on it, I don't log into it. It is unused. I stopped using it completely when I switched back to Dales, just as I had stopped using Dales when I had switched to Hugh Akston.

Earlier this week, I asked the other moderators what to do about the new names. Should I go back to being Dales, or keep my new name. It was not unanimous, but the majority felt I should keep the new name.

On the other hand, several people (not mods) have written me at the Dales account asking me to do the polling work I used to do again this campaign season. I was planning on using Dales to do it; the polling information that I track is what it is- a compilation and an analysis of what the numbers really say and mean (not what I wished they meant but rather from a mathematical point of view what they really really say). But if that is going to be controversial, that is easy enough to fix. I won't use this account either, except for finishing off this thread. It really didn't dawn on me that it would be controversial, since I know that the polling info that I do is not really a partisan activity in any way, shape or form.

As for if you could have two screen names- ask Jim, tell him why you want them and what you would do with them. If he says yes, then the mods don't have a thing to complain about.

No? I like curmudgeons. Having been accused of being one myself, I'm drawn to the crusty, anti-social people.
