I, David Blomstrom, a candidate for state office (Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction), hereby declare my belief that President George W. Bush deserves and should receive the death penalty, after the appropriate legal or quasi-legal formalities. I urge other patriotic Americans and foreign nationals alike to openly call for Bush’s execution. Furthermore, I sent my first press release announcing my position to Al-Jazeera in a symbolic gesture designed to call attention to the corruption that runs rampant in America’s media. -------Many Americans worry that the presidential election will be a sham — if Republicans allow it to occur at all. Others point out that the last presidential election was a sham. In the meantime, state and local elections are crashing and burning all around us as corruption infests every facet of our government.

That is a wrong assumption. I know several screaming leftist, and they all own firearms. Seems they are afraid of the crime in their area. However, they have said that they would probably only be able to use it to scare the attacker away.

There are some posters in FR that have suggested that we are heading to Civil War II

I'm not ready to proclaim an imminent Civil War YET..

But I am seriously getting concerned about this rhetoric and within my heart, I swear, it's more than a vague paranoa.

This hatred of Bush is simply beyond the pale. I do not recall conservatives carrying this much hatred for Clinton though I'm betting they disliked him as much as the kooks hate Bush.

What concerns me more, and there's nothing that can be done about it I don't think, is the Democratic party's careful but clandestine nurturing of this hatred. Of course they'd deny it but they walk softly and carry a big stick, we all know it.

It's a line that I fear will be crossed and folks, I'd rather die myself first, but I can't shake this horror that somehow, someway, some kook is going to take the rhetoric seriously and attempt an assassination.

Now I know there's lots of protection around the President and all that but hey, it only takes one totally dedicated individual and a whole lot of thinking. NOTHING is impossible.

And I don't think the assassination attempt is going to come from terrorists either. I think it's going to be a very misguided American egged on by all the hatred.

Last week Rush had a caller from a student who was given the assignment to write about an attempt on Bush's life. Now this contender for a public office openly has a web site called Death4Bush. Are we all so naive to think that out of 250 millions a few won't take the hatred to heart and think they're doing the country a favor by getting rid of this madman named Bush?

And folks, when that happens (and I pray I'm wrong please God let me be wrong), there WILL be another Civil war in this country.

Excellent analysis. Not to go off topic, but I fear that Al-Queda will attack several malls in the US simultaneously with explosives or chemical weapons and result in some over-zealous Americans killing innocent Muslims and destroying mosques. That over-reaction could lead to more attacks by radical muslims and creating the situation that Al-Queda wished for in the first place.

David Blomstrom admits to treason. Treason is still punishable with death, ergo Blomstrom himself deserves the fate he would visit on others.

As hateful as Blomstrom's site is, it is still within our First Amendment bounds of free speech. As indicated by the quote below, Blomstrom is effectively saying that he thinks Bush is guilty of the capital crime of Treason and should be executed for it after the appropriate legal procedures are followed.

"President George W. Bush deserves and should receive the death penalty, after the appropriate legal or quasi-legal formalities. ... Let me first emphasize that this is not a death threat. Nor is it designed to encourage physical attacks."

This is Blomstrom's personal opinion. As long as he doesn't take matters into his own hands or encourage others to take extra-legal action, he is entitled to express his opinion without any harrassment from the Secret Service or our criminal justice system.

The proper response to Blomstrom is to publicize his "hate speech" so as to discredit him and those who share his views.
