[history]
Aborigines had dingoes as companions for thousands of years, but modern Australians are debating whether these unique wild dogs should be kept as household pets.
After all, the dingoes' role with the Aborigines was on hunting expeditions, and experts fear today's owners are at risk of attack as dingoes grow older, and their aggressive ancient instincts take over.

that initially earned them the shoot-on-sight sentence.
This should be a bit difficult in the new, modern, enlightened, gun free, Australia.

My Aussie dog which herds livestock is part Dingo in it's breeding. That dog knows no fear and is the most fiercely loyal dog I've ever seen. She weighs in at 28 pounds but will take down a horse if you tell her to.
Training her was brutal. They are the most "anxious to kill" dogs I've ever seen. It's sport for them. Finally one day it clicked and she now knows not to kill. She just grips on a large animal like a clamp. She can get under a sheep or cow and nip at their belly to keep them at a run and match their pace stride for stride.
If my wife does not come to bed with me but comes in an hour later, that dog will not allow her in the room until I say it's ok. She guards my kids the same way. (my poor wife!)
That picture you posted looks just like my dog. The teeth are not quite as plentiful though.

Good riddance! Dingo's are nasty animals. They pounce on things they should not. They will screw anything except their dingo "partner". I think their noses look funny. What do you
think?

Yawn. Ho-hum. Sitting out here in the bush is soooo interesting.

Plenty of Dingos in southern Idaho- sheep dogs. But you should get rid of any animal that growls at your spouse.

Nothing on Earth is more ferocious than a US military working dog.

Nothing on Earth is more ferocious than a US military working dog. The Czechoslovokian Army'd dogs from their Grabstejnj training center are no lightweights either, and neither are the South African Army and police's Boerboels and Dobermans.
