Ghost Writers in Disguise
Ghost Riders in the Sky: Words and Music by Stan Jones circa 1949
Parody by LonePalm

An old tired hack went writing out one dark and stormy night
Upon the web he rested as he cruised another site.
When all at once a mighty herd of red-eyed Dems he saw
A 'plowin' through their ragged lies and up a logic flaw.

Yi-pi-yi-ay, Yi-pi-yi-o
Ghost writers in disguise.

Their friends were still on fire and their whines began to peal.
Their scorn wuz black and swiny and their hot breath made you reel.
A bolt of fear went through him as they blundered through their lies
For he saw the writers comin' hard and he heard their mournful cries

Yi-pi-yi-ay, Yi-pi-yi-o
Ghost writers in disguise.

Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred, and arm pits soaked with sweat
They're writin' hard to reach that herd but they ain't got them yet
They've got to write forever crap that no one else will buy
On PCs snortin' fire, as they write on, hear their cry

Yi-pi-yi-ay, Yi-pi-yi-o
Ghost writers in disguise.

As the writers moped on by him, he heard one call his name
"If you want to save your soul from hell a' writin' to your shame."
"Then writer change your ways today or with us you will write"
"A-tryin' to reach the Demo herd, ‘They’ll never get it right.’"

Yi-pi-yi-ay, Yi-pi-yi-o
Ghost writers in disguise.
Ghost writers in disguise.

Rest In Peace Johnny Cash. Because you’re fine, I wrote the line.

Back in the sixties I had a band called "Gross Riders in Disguise," which we usually billed as "Grid."

Ping for your inspired tribute.

Johnnie stayed to remember one more 9-11 and left to join his wife, imho.

Sorry for the language, BUT DANG. I just read and sang your lyrics to Laura Earl (she didn't know the song) . We are in awe. Do you write music? We could collaborate.

Sorry Flurry,

I write words. I can't carry a tune in a bucket and I listen to AM talk radio. When it comes to taste, it's ALL in my mouth. Mrs Palm buys my clothes so I don't look too funny at work.

My only artistic ability seems to be in the kitchen. I can paint on the plate and make music in your mouth.

Food is good. I lost my music writer in 75 to a car accident (he and my keyboad player on their way to a gig). I want to write lyrics again. I burned all our work together, he had no heirs. I want to write again. Thanks I loved your version,

Nope. Never been to Austin. We just played in the Bay Area of California. After THAT I went on the road in the five western states. Gag!

Ghost Riders in the Sky midi.

Drat. I'm connected through my ancient Linux box that doesn't quite do MIDI, and I'm not sure I know the tune. But it looks like a great job!

When all at once a mighty herd of red-eyed Dems he saw
A 'plowin' through their ragged lies and up a logic flaw.

Saw a group of them in Redmond last evening, waving signs like "The war was based on a lie" to the passing traffic. Disgusting.
