~The Dragon Flies Lair~

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guides
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

The Song of Invisible Birds

Sam,

Good morning! Thanks for the wonderful poem this morning.

I know you love birds, feed them and enjoy their beauty.

Of course, Sam, I am a bird of a different sort!! LOL

Good morning Snippy.

Wonderful poem this morning. I am so very encouraged by your writing. Keep up the wonderful work. Writing from our gut is (IMHO)the way to truth as we see, know it, to heal, to ease, to escape if need be, to dream, to love, to be.

You go woman!!

Morning bentfeather, snippy, and Sam.
Haven't written anything yet, no inspiration at the moment.
But I have ideas for drawings!
*snort*
(But I don't have the skill, yet, or objects needed for them! UGH!)

You're very kind, thank you. I'm being brave to putting it all out here for viewing. I fear it gives too much of me away though. But what the heck, as far as we know, we only live once, might as well go for the gusto!

Good to have you here. You were missed.

LOL.

How did Huey end up in that mix of songs today?

Thanks for the tunes.

That looks like it could have come from your backyard SAM. Beautiful picture. Good poetry, too.

I have missed everyone so much, too.

Writing takes brave and bold actions, facing the truth about ourselves and the guts to put it out for all to see.

Take it from me snippy it's takes guts, or as we Finns say, Sisu.

Sam knows about Sisu.

Ahhh, broken hearts and lost love, and DREK!:

A broken note of a dream long gone
The faded promises of a love long ago betrayed
It used to be that she dreamed of me
But I no longer float in her dreamscape sky.
She's all I still see
And I cannot hide the tears in my eyes.
Somehow it all fell apart
Wanted us to be together again
Somewhere the road was lost
And we wander in the mist in silence
And it's all a memory floating on the dust
Was I too hard to hold?
Was I a thorn of ice to you?
Pleasing to see but never meant to belong?
Did the song in the night turn to shrieks of rage?
How did it all end like this
Silence where once we laughed
A chilly step where there was once a path
I think of what was so often
And I wish there was more to see
The pain inside is so cruelly killing me
But I've drifted to the dark side of me.
And sing the broken notes from a dream long gone.

Since everyone here has a cold, I
came up with a little rhyme.

Green goo is in my shoe.
Warn me please, when you sneeze...

Gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling all
over, doesn't it? (ha ha)

In the diamond mine of me
sparkles a brilliance for you to see
the beauty of the inner me...

A soul of love and fealty
reflections of a personality
tried by fire and reality
in a crucible of agony
freed by maturity and reality
near the edge of time
listening to the planets rhyme
and sing their songs in heavenly places
and smiles on cherubs little faces
fluttering little golden wings
of gossamer and fragile things
above the birds and dragon flies
laughing at the butterflies
weaving, dipping on the wind
skating on a crystal thin layer of ice

oh yes, this is my place, this is my home,
I'm not alone...
My diamond mine shines free
for all the world to look and see
the beauty of the soul that is me...

I know you love birds, feed them and enjoy their beauty.

One of the simpler joys in life.

I like that one.

I call your name, but you are gone
and though I try, I can't move on.
Alone I sit under the moon,
with no comfort but the sound of a loon.
Clear skies, but clouds in my eyes.
The stars, they twinkle while I cry.
And I keep asking myself "why?"
Why did I let you go?
Why couldn't I let you know,
I never meant those words I said.
By my pride, I was misled.
Now I close my eyes & weep.
Tonight, I know I'll not sleep.
But when I open my eyes I see
you standing right in front of me.
The dawn has offered me reprieve.
I would be a fool not to receive.
Maybe I've been saved from a fall,
I've found my happy ending afterall.

I'm just glad I can still
THINK with this cold.

I'm the court jester.
Although I'm smiling outside,
inside is a frown.

*runs through while being chased by longer*
Maybe if I run through other dead threads I can lose the furniture?
*Instantly assaulted by a toaster in reply*
Run! Run for your lives!
*Leaps out window, furniture in hot pursuit.*

Thou art playful little one.
A mirthful muse you have undone,
so jesting round it will be
and laughing on the thread for thee!
