My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Thanks. I've written about my mom's dish rag, my mom's Christmas trees, my parents' seventh child (Honey, the rat terrier), my dad being an ogre, my children's birthdays, graduations, now wedding on the oldest, my daughter last Friday. Most of my poems are not classy but fun anyway. I've written about most everything and like to be challenged to write a little ryhming poem on short notice. I'm really a frustrated lyricist who can't find a music writer. Lyrics are the easiest.
To: Flurry
I write gothic horror freeverse.
Sis, Darkchylde, is the rhymer.
I usually write about pain and loss, sometimes mental dysfunction, and nightmares.
Anything other than that is usually a short story.
I have tunes in my head, usually after hearing them in dreams, but I cannot write music worth beans.
So I write the lyrics down, when I can remember them, and wonder how many escape me.
Heck, I posted a few song fragments a few posts back in thread.
I'm not a 'real' poet, so I see real talent and go, "Oooooooh!"

I write some freeverese and a good bit prose. But it is usually dark, exotic, and personal, not proper for public consumption. I haven't tried Kung Fu yet.

I'm not sure some of the dark stuff I write is fit for public flogging, but I've been told some of it is fun.
But, I'll drop it into here and see whether it gets it's deserved "It is DREK!" comment.

Sloppy due to distractions. But here you go.
Darksheare
Gothic horror is the choice,
When writings to be done.
Needs to pen the pain and loss,
Both or sometimes one.
The darkest fears emerge at night,
They manifest in dreams.
The demons from our deepest thoughts,
Heard in our silent screams.
Fear not the night for it will pass,
I hope I dont spark fear.
Its just the scary writing of,
The Artist called Darksheare.

Thanks!
It's actually alot nicer than what I write.
Tuna trawl the thread for some of my stuff and see what I mean..
Sis writes some stuff that'll spin heads as well.
Stuff I write, I save to a text file as well as having penned down..

Oh I save everything unless I write it to someone. This of course is about you and now belongs to you. I was writing another ryhmy little ditty about someone I know little about. It is a mental excercise and with everything going on around me at work write now I will not guarantee the meter. I cruise and throw out my net.
To: Flurry
I usually write what pops into my head, then tinker with it's structure until it makes sense.
Or not, whatever the case may be.

My best work pops in too. I may spend weeks even months toying with it. I keep that work safe because I'm working on a couple of theme books. The little ditties are written on the back of cocktail napkins or written in the sand on the beach, or a reply box on FR or ,,,,
To: Flurry
Sometimes I get inspiration from music.
Once in awhile I write stuff that isn't supposed to make sense.
And once in awhile I'll write something down, look at it, and then have inspiration.
I don't publish any of my stuff, I don't write enough of it to justify doing so, and there isn't much of a market for semi-gothic style prose.

I'll probably never publish either. But I have enough acceptable work to try. I'll make sure the kids know where it all is located in case they want to chase it after I'm gone.
I was once given a book of southern humor poems called "The Road Less Graveled" by a friend who said, "you are much better than this guy." I need to dig it up and see who the publisher is.

Could anything ever be stranger than I?
For I am the bar fly.
Let me have a sip of your pint.
If you don't see me, I know you won't mind.
I'll dally here all night long
& listen to your drunken songs.
I'll just rest here, I won't get caught.
Hey, that bartender has a fly 'SWAT'!
To: Flurry
I get told once in awhile that what I write isn't teh drek and drivel I feel it to be.
And my sis states that we should probably jointly write and publish.
(I read her stuff, and think that it's better than my demented rambling scribbles.)
Not sure I have the guts to even attempt to publish it.
Heck, it took some arm twisting by a few people before I posted any of it.
