My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

I never critique another's work. Poetry like art comes from the heart of the creator. I do a lot of silly poems and some serious. I stay away from the dark foreboding work because I try to make other's laugh or think. I don't like to make other's dread. Thanks.

I stay away from the artsy side except to do satire. I like to use everyday words instead of "Saffron". I like to talk eye to eye with the reader not down. I do it for mental excercise and fun. Sometimes I'm lightly serious.

I think that was the one thing that bugged me about most poetry as a kid, I always felt like I was being talked down to, like the writer somehow was "superior" because he/she could write poetry.

yep. I use slang, snippets, whatever it takes. People who read my stuff say, "Dang I could have written that".

I've only tried a few poems and pretty much limited it to haiku. It seems the easiest for me. I really like to find others poetry that I like and share it.

a silent symphony of love
becomes lost when you fear
my whispers will end

Don't forget, you can try to find a hotel with a business office or a bar with internet access and a library. That's what SAM and I did in San Diego and I know SAM used the library while on a camping trip once.
Otherwise, I hope your wireless behaves.
Take care.

Take me backTake me back my lover, won't you please take me home
Will you really say it's over, I can't live a life alone
I'll make it up to you my baby, if you give me one more try
I've got so much to lose with you, don't let our love just die
What have I done to our lives, what have I done to our tomorrows
How could I face another light, with all this pain and sorrow
Could you find it in your heart to forgive me, just one more time
Or will it rain each day in both of our lives, and the sun no longer shine
Take me back baby
I'll come if you ask
Can't we just go on from here, my dear, and put it in the past
Won't you please forgive me baby, how could I've been so blind
Is it going to end like this, and simply be no more
How could you walk away from me, my love, and forever close the door
Take me back baby
I'll do as you say
Take me back my lover, won't you please take me home
Will you really say it's over, I can't live a life alone
I'll make it up to you my baby, if you give me one more try
I've got so much to lose with you, don't let our love just die
Can you make me any sadder, then by keeping us apart
Will it ever be the same again, can't we make a fresh new start
Will you look at all the pain, don't you see I love you so
Is this the end for us my dear, can't you please just let it go
Take me back baby
I'll come if you ask
We had so much we shared how could you really go away
Will it ever be the same my dear, can't we start a brand new day
How could it just end like this, and simply be no more
How could you walk away from me, my love, and forever close the door
Take me back baby
I'll come if you ask
Take me back my lover, won't you please take me home
Will you really say it's over, I can't live a life alone
I'll make it up to you my baby, if you give me one more try
I've got so much to lose with you, don't let our love just die

NIGHTSHIFT, 1946 In the steamy heat and the noise
Of the turning belts and spinning cylinders
That drove the cranky and endless flow of paper
We busted ass seven days a weeks
For enough to live our small-town lives.
Laughing and swearing
We bullshitted while we worked,
About The Bulge and Omaha Beach,
Iwo and Leyte Gulf,
Flak and fighters and burning cities.
Managers gone for the day,
Forman looking the other way,
We drank when we could find the time
Cheap whiskey, cheap wine
And beaucoup bottles of beer.
Swingshift or graveyard,
Laughing and bitching,
Drinking and bullshitting,
And busting ass.
Content in our simple world
Not awake to the wrongs around us.
Not worrying about the future.
Glad it was over.
Glad to be home.
Glad to have a job.
Glad to be alive.

LOL. I do prefer being called to it by you and your music though.
I'll just have to learn to be patient. ;)

Another good one. If my mind wasn't absorbed in wedding, rehearsal tonight, the wedding tomorrow night. I'd write something. I must escort my little baby girl in white (she's 24). Until I beat the heck out of my future son in law. Just kidding I really like the kid and he has seen all my firearms and pratice targets.

I'm looking for Saturday morning. Everything around me reminds me that my little girl is grown up now. Hopefully the nerves will be cooled off Saturday morning.
