Brewers Asked to Create Beer for Women

British beer-makers should brew a real ale directed at women, the chairwoman of the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) said Tuesday.

Paula Waters said the British brewing industry had become too set in its ways and the number of women trying real ale had declined.

"Someone in the industry needs to lead the way by launching an all-new beer aimed at women -- the world's first Fem-ale. This will help dispel the myth that beer is strictly for the boys," Waters said on the first day of the Great British Beer Festival in London.

Camra said its research showed more women would be willing to try beer if it was presented in more stylish glasses than ordinary pint pots.

"Just look at the beer drinking culture in Belgium. There is a wide range of fruity Belgian beers that are served in stylish branded glasses and you see a large number of women drinking these traditional styles of beer in cafes and bars," Waters said.

The annual Great British Beer Festival runs from Tuesday to Saturday at London's Olympia. Organizers expect some 45,000 visitors.

Seriesly I'd rather drink cheap Jim Bean than Jack Daniels or Wild Turkey. I like domestic light pilsner beers such as Keystone or Miller Lite. Cheap vodka, cheap tequila, cheap scotch, and wine in a box. I don't own a pair of loafers. And since I don't know what earwax tastes like I refuse to try Zima for fear that I'll like it and start eating earwax.

So unless you want to make angry, (I'll start posting photos of Democraps, than I'll carpet bomb you with a B-52, then it will escalate from there, ending in the destruction of all life on the planet), drop the Zima thing.

Yuck!! I am woman, and I like beer to taste like beer. My favorites are Fat Tire, Pecan Street Lager and Dos Equis (Amber).. a few others I like a lot too.

But I guess it needs to be in a pretty glass per the article. I prefer the bottle or the can but I really drink few Lager's.. I don't know why I have never found a Lager I like.
