The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

It is over all our heads!
To: HairOfTheDog
Heh. Held firm at half a can of Fancy Feast. Then it's "eat your dry food, Sweetie."
To: HairOfTheDog
Okey doke. It might be best that the Rocky Horror DVD stays out of their hands. They might play it by accident some time. That would be bad.
So he decided that D couldn't handle Raiders? Dang... I mainly bought it for *her* cuz I thought it was something she could handle. The first one is pretty tame. She wouldn't be able to handle "doom"... but the first and third are alright.
To: Ramius; g'nad; HairOfTheDog
This is what I was referring to. Not sure if it's what mrsnad meant...
Bruce: New-Bruce, are you a Poofter?
Bruce: Are you a Poofter?
New-Bruce: No!
Bruce: No. Right, I just want to remind you of the faculty rules:
Rule One! (Everybruce) No Poofters!
Rule Two, no member of the faculty is to maltreat the Abbos in any
way at all -- if there's anybody watching.
Rule Three? (Everybruce) No Poofters!!
Rule Four, now this term, I don't want to catch anybody not drinking.
Rule Five, (Everybruce) No Poofters!
Rule Six, there is NO ... Rule Six.
Rule Seven, (Everybruce) No Poofters!!
Right, that concludes the readin' of the rules, Bruce.

What's over your head? "Puffer"? Didn't she just mean smoker?
I'm confused now, too. How will I ever get to sleep tonight?
To: Corin Stormhands
Yeah, there's always something depressing about not being as miserable as you'd expected. Not able to wallow quite enough.

Ramius...I believe G'nad has been giving you a hard time under my name...note the spelling of the word your (yer)in post 40134.

Hi, Mrs. g'nad, nice to meet you!
To: Corin Stormhands
Eeeeemanuel Kant was a real pissant
Who was very rarely stable...
Heidegger Heidegger was a boozy beggar
Who could think you under the table...
And David Hume...
Could out consume...
Wilhelm Frederick Flegel...
...and Rene Descartes was a boozy fart
...who was just as shloshed as Shlegel...
[or, something like that, but I wouldn't know. I'm only in charge of the sheep dip.]
To: Corin Stormhands
you are correct sir...do we need to spell it out for the rest of the group?
mrsnad
To: Ramius
What about Edmund Burke?
To: HairOfTheDog
Raiders?!
Raiders is tame, less you've got a thing about snakes.
To: Sam Cree; Corin Stormhands; Overtaxed
Sam: welcome back; familar with the "in-n-out" tricks of the resident canine myself. "Dang, nothing going on out here either"
Corin; I 'splained it to LSA as well.
OT: well the whole county got "civilized" i.e. "regulated" in the mid-70's and only more so now.
To: RosieCotton
Rosie - I just got around to reading your NaNoWriMo start. I liked it - you really have to write more. It was a great start! You've got a very distinctive narrator voice and I think there's an interesting story in there.
Also I have uploaded the first five chapters of my own story, if anyone cares.

There's nothing Nietzche couldn't teach ya
'Bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed.
John Stuart Mill, of his own free will,
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.
Plato, they say, could stick it away--
Half a crate of whisky every day.
Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle.
Hobbes was fond of his dram,
And René Descartes was a drunken fart.
'I drink, therefore I am.'

I am watching RaidersI still remember the first time I saw "Raiders" in the theater (I was 17)... I nearly laughed my head off all through the "escape with the idol" sequence at the start. I couldn't believe someone had made a live-action version of the Coyote vs. Roadrunner cartoons!
