Morning ladies...g'nad is off to school. He had 3 kids tell him yesterday that he was their favorite teacher...one of them was from a previous ISS day. He said "that's nice, now get the hell out of here".
I'll be busy getting the house ready for his sis and her hubby...must make my special garlic potato soup. They should be here tonight.
WN...I need your address...you know that check I said I'd put in the mail on Monday... :-) *begging for forgiveness* I WILL run it to the mailbox (1 mile away) if I hear from you by noon.
2J...loved hearing about how much Steve's coffee reminds you of him and your love for him...my coffee maker is pretty great too.

I am not a bald faced idiot. I think I can just about do anything.
I figure I should be able to build me a chicken coop...a better one than I have now...with scrap lumber.
It's just that every time I go to think about it...my mind shuts down! I don't know where to begin!
I have a booklet called "Simpson Strong-Ties". I think I'm on the right track...I have a bunch of lumber in the garage that our neighbor gave us. Some of it is quite nice, cedar 2x6s!

I kinda want to do it myself...and these strong tie things look like it might make it easier.
I don't know though...this is in the "thinking" stage right now!
It's just that I have all this scrap lumber...I should be able to build something!

Gosh 2J...you won't get much help from me...I would need to see it on paper and then I could do it too but I'm no good at just throwing things together...I prefer to tear things apart and learn how they work and then put them back together...just ask G'nad about our vacume, cars and yes even our cd player. What is wrong with the coop you have now...besides the fact that you have to cover it with tarp when it rains and have to bend over to go in and get the eggs?

You hit it right on the head with what's wrong with the present coop! It's a cute little thing and does a good job, but I'm nearly killing myself going in it! I am constantly whacking my back on the top of the entryway! And I'm always afraid I'm going to topple over when I go in, which isn't a good thing. LOL

Yeah...but I like it! They do go in most the time...they take turns each morning checking for eggs.
