The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Morning. I'm at work. I haven't recovered from the 9-hour meeting yesterday. Every candidate I voted for lost. It's only Wednesday.

It's rainy out here too...but the coop was dry! BTW, I was thinkin' this morning. Doesn't Frodo need to visit the chickens?
To: RosieCotton
I hope so.
I wrote 150 words yesterday. Ugh. Today *has* to be better.

Ramius: I dunno if you have my picture or not... hair may have some scanned. I can get my scanner busy too I suppose. How far can I go back? The farther I go the better it seems to be... ? :-) I have the sortof "omygodwhathaveidone" boot camp photo I could scan...
And I rather like this one on board the Resolute with Gramma and Grampa. I like how skinny ~I~ am in it! Oh - and Ramius looks like a fighter pilot....

Corin.... I don't know how you ever completed the ~first~ thought about Nanowrimo. Seriesly? When we first talked about it was when we thought the contactors would be finished two weeks ago. We are now assured that will be finished tomorrow. They did finish the tilework yesterday. Carpenter and plumber are sposed to come today and clean up crew tomorrow. I think we skeered 'em.
And sign up for Nanowrimo was also before the two recent deaths and before the trouble with the van.
But, this (and okay the speeding ticket) are things over which I have some control (along with my attitude at work, but it ain't bad on this post-election morning).
In a perfect world (one I've never known), I could fire off a couple thousand words a night. I may keep writing as I feel like it, but I'm not gonna worry 'bout the deadline.
Tentative good news about the van. When my brother took it to his mechanic, once he got it on the highway it kicked into gear. Mechanic thinks it's the governor (as opposed to the whole transmission). Thinks he can clean it and change the transmission fluid and it should be okay. We'll know today for sure.
To: Corin Stormhands
Oh, I hope your van is ok.
Can you go tell ecurbh and Hair that this is a public thread?
