The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I think that time has come. I'll be checking in tomorrow. I'm gonna pour some beer on my chest. I think it will facilitate the tanning process, or at least that' what my attorney tells me. No sense telling him about the bats. He'll see them soon enough.
Later,
Good luck with the Vincent Black Shadow.

I get basic services tomorrow.
Interesting expression, that.

Goodnight Ramius
I tell you, my man. This is the
American Dream in action! We'd be
fools not to ride this strange
torpedo all the way to the end.

hehehe...
It's a savage journey to the heart of the American dream. Take it for whatever it is worth...

There were a couple of young women at the Zoo with one of their boyfriends, I think. They wanted me to take their picture with Flat Frodo with their camera. I did it gladly. They just thought it was so cute.
That's when I was trying to get his picture with a Snow Leopard, but folks kept getting in the way, and the leopards were just NOT cooperating at all! They wouldn't stay still for more than 30 seconds, or when they did stop, they were out of camera range. How rude!
We got to the zoo late, and I ran out of time, but I really wanted to do a "lions and tigers and bears, oh my", sequence!

Morning all!
SQ- the pics are awesome!
To: Lil'freeper
Thanks! Glad you like them. It was so much fun, as you know, setting him up for the pictures. Passersby do a double take when they see him, and either they are confused cause they don't know who he is, or they chuckle because they DO.
Whenever folks asked what I was doing, I'd tell them about the Hobbit Hole and the Adventures of Flat Frodo and they thought it was a cute idea.

Heh...too bad his middle name isn't James! Just for kicks, I thought I'd try to find a custom birthday cake. Found this instead:

I tried!

After watching TV this evening (NYPD Blue, which wasn't bad, but the commercials were unbelievable) and then the news this evening, Steve and I both just shook our heads...it was just one digusting aweful thing after another. I hear you 2J. But I recently gave in and cancelled my cable (again) and upgraded to DirectTV. The satellite is actually cheaper than the cable was. We don't watch hardly anything on the regular networks.
Most of our tv watching time is spent on TLC(Trading Spaces, While You Were Out, American Chopper, etc.), Animal Planet(Croc Hunter, Croc Hunter Diaries), and the Cartoon Network(Dexter's Laboratory, Courage the Cowardly Dog). And Tami and I like kicking back and watching a movie in the evening.

To: RosieCotton
LOL! No, it isn't James!
But here he is from yesterday, when he was still my little seven year old...

WN...the packages for the guys are great. Excellent job, my friend, excellent. Thank you mstar. It is a real pleasure for me to do this. (even though I'm having trouble getting to 2J's level of organization) And it's so much of an honor to me that ya'll are willing to do this for my precious son-in-law!
