The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…

Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

The Road Goes Ever On…

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Grama used to make "Better than Sex." The day Myranda was born she brought my husband a pan all for himself. With appropriate comments. Grama, was a card.

Had a GREAT time at the music festivalyesterday, by the way. Johnny Cunningham was the headliner and the biggest name there, but my absoulute favorite was this group or couple or whatever you wanna call 'em. We actually saw them before the performance...a couple of us went out for lunch to a little diner, and a group of people came in, several of 'em with strong Irish accents and were obviously really having a good time together - telling jokes and "deedling" tunes (as my brother calls it), discussing favorite tunes and such. We didn't talk to them then 'cause they left before we did, but I went to their first performance of the day partly out of curiosity. The second one, I got there early and dragged the brother who hadn't seen them yet with me so we could sit in the front row. They were FANTASTIC! The sister plays with Cherish the Ladies, the brother...I'm not sure. But he's a wonderful accordian player, and one of the cutest guys I've ever seen in my LIFE. Those pictures don't do him justice. OK, so that did color my appreciation a bit, but I doubt it worked for my brothers, and THEY loved them, too. ;) I bought their CD...wish they toured more together! The guitarist who played with them (a friend from Dublin) was also amazing. Very unique, driving style. It added a lot to their sound.

OK, enough raving for now....

Is it ground up meat? Or whole chunks? I'd think the whole chunks would be okay as long as they weren't cylindrical.

Hmm. You got me there. The meat is from some frozen ground beef that I had in the freezer. I guess I am in for some worm chili?

My former husband used to help keep my food intake down by talking during dinner about stuff he ate when he was a Ranger. ugh.

I would bet Cherish the Ladies are playing down that way...I'm not sure if the Reillys tour much, more's the pity! CTL are actually playing here in town in two weeks. Too bad she couldn't drag Martin along and do another concert the next night! Oh well. In my dreams.

Nothing more attractive than a fantastic musician who also happens to be gorgeous...;)

I really liked the sound of the whole group, though. I'm just dwelling on him a bit...

Now you've got me drooling. I planted some baking pumpkins in the garden this year. I'm waiting to have some pumpkin pie. Msdrby got a recipe from 2J for a crust.
