NEWS - Dixie Chicks Return, Zing Bush Again 06/04/2003
(6/4/03, 10 a.m. ET) -- The Dixie Chicks took a new shot at President George W. Bush at the Palace Of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan, on Monday (June 2). The Chicks had to cancel Sunday's (June 1) show in Cleveland due to lead singer Natalie Maines' sore throat, but she told the sold-out Palace audience, "I am so glad I got my voice back for tonight. I had absolutely no voice yesterday--and I swear you could hear clapping from the Oval Office." It was the only time during the evening when boos could be heard from the crowd.
Maines and the Chicks have been engaged in controversy since March 10, when she told a London audience that the Texas trio was "ashamed" that Bush was from their native state. The group has been subjected to airplay boycotts and other protests, though few demonstrators have shown up at their concerts.
The Cleveland show, canceled just 15 minutes before it was supposed to start, has been rescheduled for June 11.
The Chicks recently postponed their June 12 date in Toronto until August 6 due to concerns about SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome).
The next show for the Dixie Chicks is Thursday (June 5) at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

What's her damage, I thought President Bush was extremely gracious about the situation when asked about it. To misquote Twain, there are fools, damned fools, and Dixie Chicks.

My local country radio station reported that a fan yelled "Shut up and sing, fat girl," to hoots and hollars from the crowd. This was allegedly said after the boos died down. What an idiot Maines is. President Bush is too busy doing his job to care less what another dumb (Democrat) broad has to allude about him...

It appears to be more of a self-deprecating shot at herself than some kind of "zing".

How pathetic. I wonder if she actually thinks anyone at the White House will ever even take notice of her comments or that the concert crowd came for her political analysis. I wonder why I even clicked on this thread. I wonder why I'm still wasting my time on it.

Seems Maines has adopted Sheryl Crow's 'speak your mind on a t-shirt' thing. She's been wearing a few 'politically' minded tees at her concerts.

Some people have bad backs. Others have PMS or the male equivalent whatever that is, or migraines etc. I tend to have "colds" and have yet to be too sick yesterday to do something and be up and running the next day. Particularly for something like singing. It is obvious this ditz is on to something big siince this is something she can do and did do. Medical researchers would love to know how she did that.

She has "I'm transitioning from my (my view) redneck trailer trash fan base to a bad girl pop career" disease.

Because it's fun to see liberal, hard-core Rats stepping in their own droppings!

Even so, Nat should have sense enough to never say anything again that could be construed as an attempt to zing Dubya.
Just not prudent.

Another triumph of the airbrush.
To: fightinJAG
Natalie, you waaaaayyy ignorant slut! Dubya was nowhere near the White House on 2 June. Busy at meetings w/leaders of the free world. In Sharm al Shaikh. Can you say that, Nat? Do you have any idea where it is? Oh well, you keep performin' & thinkin' you're so quick w/the witty jabs. What a clymer! Clymerette? :)

The people in the crowd really have to wonder why they are still supporting his shrew.
When was the concert anyway? Wasn't Bush overseas? I know it's a joke but a know-it-all witch like Maines should have come up with something better.
By the way, he is worrying about Iran, WMD, North Korea and the Road map. Someone needs to tell her that she and her pathetic band aren't on his radar screen.
The narcissism of that comment is beyond belief. What a creepy, twisted idiot that shrew is!
To: fightinJAG
If the price of ignorant comments ever gets to $20 a barrel I want the drilling rights to Natalie Maines' head.

Natalie flatters herself that anyone in the Oval Office gives a d---. She is very prone to insult people she doesn't know personally, isn't she? Pond scum serves more of a purpose on this planet than she does.
To: joebuck
I will bet that the Cleveland concert is cancelled completely......a lot of people drove 2-3 hrs only to have the concert cancelled 15 minutes before curtain. I can't imagine people are going to come back for it. Think of the parking ($20) dinner out (40) babysitters(15-20) and then have it cancelled. Yeah, I'd be running back on the 11th .STUPID.
I used to love their music and really think they are a good act but can no longer tolerate listening to them. All I can think of when they come on the radio is Natalie wearing that stupid FUTK t shirt..what a bimbo
