YES! This only illustrates the point that Americans are no longer tolerant of those that bash America!! This is awesome news! They can't just sneak back into our hearts, as much as they would like to.

Audience Boos Dixie Chicks at ACM Awards May 22, 7:05 AM EST
Many country music fans aren't ready to forgive the Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines for comments critical of President Bush: Voters rejected the group's nominations for three Academy of Country Music Awards and the audience booed the mention of their name.
Presenter Vince Gill urged the audience at Wednesday night's show to "Stop it, stop it." He added: "You know who gets blessed when you forgive you."
Maines has been in the country music doghouse since she told a London audience on March 10, before the start of the war in Iraq, that "we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."
...
The Dixie Chicks were a late addition, performing by satellite from their hometown of Austin, Texas.
Maines sat silently as Emily Robison briefly introduced the song.
The boos erupted when Gill named the Dixie Chicks among nominees for entertainer of the year. Gill said afterward that the reaction was more subdued than at last month's Flameworthy Awards. "It was a pretty volatile crowd that time. This one wasn't so bad," he said.
It didn't seem that way to host Reba McEntire.
"It was a pretty big negative response. I don't think it's over," she said after the program.

How old is Reba? She does kinda look like a hot older chick, but I don't know how old she really is. Not a fan of country music, so I don't know these things, though I can tell you that Faith Hill and Shania are both about 35.

>The Dixie Chicks booed. Hillary booed. Bill booed. ...
Yes, but, every one
of those scum people will still
make millions this year,
and their fellow scum
will prop up their dead careers.
(And Hillary might
be president soon!)
These boo's solve nothing, and just
underscore the line
dividing Red/Blue
Nation. And Blue Nation still
is half the US...

I will consider forgiving Maines when she poses in Penthouse. I will consider it for a full ten seconds.

I used to be in the air charter business. Trust me on this.....You do not want to know Reba. Andy Griffith, Whoopie Goldberg either.
Bob Dole, his wife, Aerosmith, and Michael Jordan are the greatest. Rusty Wallace is in a class all by himself.

Here's another line from one of her concerts. She was trying to decide whether or not to sit on the steps in her very short skirt and decided it would be ok since "you've all seen me naked". Uh, does this assume we all dashed out to buy a copy of ET with the naked chicks on the cover? Not.

Natalie in Penthouse? I thought she was going to pose in Cow Quarterly.

I've heard that about Andy Griffith. No surprise, he is a democrat.

Does the phrase "NO WIRE HANGARS" paint the picture for you?

RINOs - Rednecks in Name Only... I LOVE IT!!!!!! Let's start a "You know you're a RINO Redneck if....." list! Let's see.....
1. You call the lady who raised you "Mom", "Mother", or "Ma", but not "Mamma".
2. You know that white wine goes with fish and red wine goes with steak, but you don't know that Big Red goes with fried chicken gizzards or Fritos, while grape soda is best reserved for chopped barbecue sandwiches and barbecue flavored potato chips.
3. You actually put steak sauce on your steak (either because you're to ignorant to know better or because you can't grill a decent steak), instead of using a respectable dry-rub befrehand and no sauce.

"It's all about her, don't you know?"No kidding, I wonder also if she's not trying to cross-over to the pop/mtv audience?

After being told "no eye contact, and no references to Sherrif Taylor are allowed", I dumped cabin pressure on him in a rather sudden fashion. I swear his filling and caps popped out of his head.
When called for, such measures are performed at the conclusion of a job. Never insult the crew. The ride home can be a bitch.

Of course they are. Recording Landslide could take them there. They produced one version for country, one for pop.
And the video has shows them mostly without their instruments. They look funny just standing there in their dresses, trying to move to the music. I think they need dance lessons.
I predict Natalie will eventually move away from the two sisters and produce a CD of her own.

Vince Gill just went down a notch in my book. And that's saying a lot.

My wife and I know her girl friday here in Nashville. I have heard she is very "demanding" but she pays them well and is quite loyal to them and expects the same in return.
I used to know Waylon fairly well myself...he was actually very damned nice and funny but if you ever pissed him off...you were toast forever in his book. He and his wife were very kind to my dad when my dad was terminal.
I was the concert commission booker in college at Ole Miss in the late 70s for 4 semesters. We dealt with a slew of rockbands. Jimmy Buffett was the biggest jerk....drunk and coked out dropping valiums everywhere...incrdible cause he seems so personable on stage. Dan Fogleberg..another prick. Doobie Brothers...great. BB King...as kind as they come. The Dead...laid back and very very nonpretentious. Boz Skaggs...another very nice guy. Charlie Daniels...he should be everybody's friend.
Here in Nashville, we see folks all the time, but nobody bothers them and they just seem like neighbors. Steve Winwood is in fact my neighbor.
One of my business partners is a booking agent and has been for 2 decades here. he claims they simply get used to being catered to and come to expect it and of course they are artists and hence are a bit more senstive by nature.
Reba's air charter experiences were tragic weren't they....she's lucky she was not on that plane.
