New York If one off-hand remark got The Dixie Chicks international response, imagine the buzz that will come after Friday's one-hour exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer. Natalie Maines, Emily Erwin and Martie Seidel will be the sole guests on a special edition of "Primetime," on ABC Friday night.
Meanwhile, despite the supposed outcry, people are snapping up Dixie Chick concert tickets. Their agent, Rob Light, tells Billboard that despite some backlash at radio and retail after that "we're embarrassed he's from Texas" comment about President Bush, the Dixie Chicks are flying high. Light says that of 59 shows, only six have seats left, and those are all 85-90% sold-out.
The Chicks' tour kicks off May 1 in Greenville, South Carolina, and concludes August 4 in Nashville.

Did some checking from just one of many companies that buy up what they consider "the best seats in the house". I have gotten "sold out" tickets in this manner myself. Again this is just one of such groups..the tickets you can never get unless you deal directly with these groups.
ticketsnow.com I found 35 seats available thru just this one company for the May 1, 2003 show alone. Are many more 'dealers' out there that buy blocks up to sell. So when they say "sold out" it is not entirely accurate.

Gee, why does that not surprise me.

how about "no buzz" the country needs a little "less buzz"....this is the network that let Scott Peterson off with some softball questions, you can imagine what kind of questions the Vichy Chicks will be asked.
I will turn off their songs no matter what station they are played on....can you hear me KZLA?

You could cheer up the opening act and loudly leave as the Ditzes come on stage...

I've heard some say to boo them. Others are saying they are sneaking in US Flags to wave in front of them and will shout DUBYA at them.

Checked this site for Atlanta concert in August. There are 330 tickets for this concert available on this site alone. Found 316 available at another website.

I don't think they would hold up too well to very obvious booing. They give me the impression of being hit-and-run attackers who can dish it out a lot better than they can take it. As much as I hate people like Sarandon and Asner and Moore, my feeling is they wouldn't crumble under a hostile audience. I think the Chicks would dissolve into a bowl of jelly.

Think how many sites we don't know about. A little spin on tickets sold with "real bodies" in them. I wonder if these "ticket brokers" have to eat the tickets they can't sell.
Thanks

I haven't yet decided what to do.I suggest you resist succumbing to the political correctness that would dissuade you from attending. I doubt you bought your tickets because of that band's political views. You most likely looked forward to being entertained by talented performers so you shouldn't let the opinions of bookburners spoil your enjoyment. Go enjoy yourself. If they say anything that you disagree with, just write it off as something a PERFORMER might say in an attempt to entertain. Write it off as a miss. Don't take actors, musicians, or other entertainment celebrities so seriously. Oh...and don't believe that America has thumbed it's nose at the Dixie Chicks. Their latest CD tops the country charts. The anal crowd is smaller than they would have you believe.

Empty seats might send the Chicklets a message if there are enough of them. If you don't want to go, definitely don't resell the tickets to anyone you think might actually enjoy the show. If you're going to sell, do so to someone who will go and make a big stink. Otherwise go and make a big stink yourself. If I were you, I'd take some old shoes so that my friends and I could pull a "freed Iraqi" and throw them at the stage. With any luck, you'll hit a target (Gnatalie's head is certainly big enough).

Empty seats would make them feel disappointed. But seats full of hostile fans might make them quit the tour, forcing them to refund the money. That would be better. Let them take a financial hit for their so-called principaled stand.
I would leave the old shoes at home. Physical assault isn't a good idea. A loud obnoxious dose of free speech is enough.

They are going to use "the other two" as human shields for maines. "the other two" have avoided the anger of fans so far. They would have been smart to distance themselves from manes. This interview is another fake. Their lipton tea add was already shelved indefinitly.

Had I known their political views, I would not have supported them with the substantial amount of money it took to buy eight tickets. Now that I know what hateful b**ches they are, I can't stand to listen to them.

"People are snapping up Dixie Chicks concert tickets" As Stan of South Park would say, "No dude, they're really not". There are lots and lots of Blix Chix tickets on EBay and they are not being snapped up.

I'm pretty sure the brokers do eat unsold tickets. Doubtful that anybody is going to offer them a refund. I found at least 6 other sites I never checked. I have no desire to watch the interview tonight. Pretty sure I'll get all the gory details tomorrow. What I have heard of their response is just more of the same spin and waaah waah poor misunderstood me. Not very intellectually stimulating I think!
