I enjoyed watching the Iraqi citizens beating on the fallen statue of Saddam with rocks. And what's this about U.S. soldiers building playgrounds? Don't they know this is an imperialistic war about oil and enriching Daddy Bush's cronies? Must not have gotten the memo.

How cool is this!!!

U.S. Army Stf. Sgt. Chad Touchett, center, relaxes with comrades from A Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, following a search in one of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s palaces damaged after a bombing, in Baghdad Monday, April 7, 2003.(AP Photo/John Moore)

If Saddam isn't already dead yet, this photo will kill him!

Yes, I'm saving the Ralph Peters stuff. He seems to be well grounded. I am printing them off and sending them to my Mother.

Mom and I had quite a conversation on the phone last week. She is FNC deprived, and was ranting about the Columbia U. prof,,, she was quite unhappy with the stance taken by CNN. (If she would part with some of her moldy money for enhanced satalite service, she could get Fox, but she remembers the Great Depression and can't bring herself to spend).

I had never heard my Mother so totally outraged. She used words I've never heard her use. She would be an excellent Freeper. Anyway. I'm sending her the Peters articles,, plus the list of Who will benefit from Saddam staying in power.

When she reads 'the List',,, she will surely deny her German heritage. She already dislikes the French, and the list will only add fuel to that fire.

One of God's greatest gifts is to know your parents as adults. What a hoot. She's finally letting loose.

The citizens of Iraq live in squalor and beg for water, but Saddam has beautiful rose gardens.

I'm trying to remember, my brain's in a blender... it's JELL-O.
From Drudge:

HILLARY CLINTON BOOK PAST DUE,
PUBLISHER'S ANGST OVER NO MANUSCRIPT, NO TITLE;
SENATOR TOOK LARGEST ADVANCE IN HISTORY

**Exclusive**

Executives at publishing powerhouse SIMON AND SCHUSTER are dismayed over Hillary Clinton's failure to turn in a completed manuscript for her book, due out in August, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

The senator of the Empire State has already received a $2.85 million cash advance on her memoirs, from a total deal valued at more than $8 million.

Why are libs so darned arrogant?

SOMEONE should remind Bill Maher he's not on network TV anymore. When Details chief Dan Peres threw a poolside party at the Avalon in L.A. last week for Hollywood's rising stars, he kindly invited Maher, who writes for the magazine. But when the HBO talkmeister arrived with 10 friends - including Kato Kaelin - he was shocked there were no VIP tables reserved for his gang.

"When you invite someone like me to a party . . ." Maher whined. Peres maintained his cool and requested that Maher do the same. But the blustering B-lister marched out in a huff, leaving bona fide celebs like Rachel Griffiths, Amanda Peet and Lara Flynn Boyle to enjoy themselves in peace. Page Six

And stupid:

TINA Brown, whose CNBC show was canceled when the war began, has lashed out at President Bush. Comparing him unfavorably to Brititsh PM Tony Blair, whom she terms a "saint," Bush "has the damped down anger of the dry drunk," Brown writes in her Times of London column. "There is something dense and taciturn about Bush even when he's being charming . . . When he's not scripted, his bald answers seem to be covering up ulterior motives. . . . Bush seems as occluded as a second-rate actor."

Meanwhile, Brown says she's thankful that at least she didn't go down like Peter Arnett.

"Being pre-emptively struck off the air is a more honorable way to go than the bum's rush administered to other cable-news types such as poor Peter Arnett or the world-class swaggerer Geraldo Rivera."

Comparing her plight to that of Phil Donahue and Connie Chung, Brown writes, "Perhaps canceling shows before they start will be the wave of the future. As usual, I'm there."

Don't worry, Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf, Ministry of Info has deemed it a figment of the infidels imagination.

These thugs must have some kind of super hallucinogenics.

Thanks for telling me about sending Ralph Peters to your Mom. It inspired me to send them to Nina, I think she'll enjoy them too.

You're right about being able to spend time with parents as you both age. My Father-in-law let loose with a curse word while telling a WWII story recently. My husband almost fainted. ;-) Hubby had never ever heard his dad use language like that. Mr. B is really enjoying spending more time with his dad, it's become a very special time for them.

Sometimes we have to take the bull by the horns and get our parents stuff that they need: see microwave ovens, telephone answering devices, garage door openers, cell phones and Fox News.

Cheers.

THE MOST PITIFUL SELF-SERVING TRIPE EVER:

Harrison Ford chatted with Calista Flockhart while John Ritter embraced Alec Baldwin. The stars gathered Sunday night in Los Angeles for a reading of the play "All About Eve," benefiting The Actors Fund. But it was the safety of American troops that took center stage.

Stockard Channing says to the troops, "I love you, we all miss you, we want you to come home safe. See you all soon!"

While Channing sends her love, Alec Baldwin upped the ante by sending out an invitation. He says, "Hope you guys are home by Memorial Day. Memorial Day party at my house on Long Island for all the troops, all hundred thousand of you. Memorial Day party at my house in East Hampton on me, come on by."

Earlier, it was a dog eat dog world as stars like Eric McCormack, Jessica Alba and Allison Janney gathered for the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a benefit to help abandoned and abused animals. But again the stars took the chance to send messages of hope to the military overseas. James Crowell says, "It's very important to end the hostilities and get our troops back safely." GAG

Aw come on, Alec, have them over to your place in France. What? You don't have a villa on the Cote d'Azur? What kind of card-carrying Bush hater are you?
