As I noted, some news sites seem to have reposted the notice from the other day in error, probably jumping the gun in their urgency to "break" the news first. I imagine the networks are just a bit antsy, and no one wants to be the last to know or report what's going on.

Don't think anything will happen at dusk - too many civilians who may be hit. More like Thursday or Friday night around 6-7:00 pm EST.

In case you havent heard ... Appreciate the heads up ... however, I've been listening to FOX for the last couple of hours, unless I missed it, they have made no reference to a 9PM address to the nation by GWB.

MSNBC reported that the ships were going on alternate schedules starting today so they could fly 24/7. One would be sleeping during the day and flying at night and another would be sleeping at night and flying during the day.
They have the instances of the Truman sleeping during the day and the Roosevelt sleeping at night!
With my daughter in the Navy (she is home on leave), I perked up when I heard that.
They also reported the same information when the Vice Admiral was on the Lincoln.

I think there's some psychological warefar going on here. Our guys know the date and time, and can get some sleep. Iraqis will be awake until it starts. Unless they fall asleep.

Agreed. But any attack on defensive positions outside of Baghdad, away from populations, will happen after dark. We own the night.

What song should the Air Cav play as they storm Baghdad? "Flight of the Valkyries" would be good.

Godspeed to our fine and brave fighting men and women! They are truly the best America has to offer, so how can we lose? Ah, I can hear the rumbling thunder of the F16's now! Damn, but I am proud to be a patriot and an American!

Alan Colmes: "Can anything prevent the war on Iraq?" I swear, bombs will be dropping like crazy on Baghdad, and Alan Colmes will still be saying, "Can anything prevent the war on Iraq?"

FWIW.
Laurie Dhue at the 7:35 news break during O'Reily said that she will come on again in 40 minutes for more news.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they do standard top of the hour news?
40 minutes from 7:35 is 8:15..... (after 8pm, 15 minutes speech??)
Did she let the cat out of the bag, or is my tinfoil too tight?

I laugh to think that someone in the Roosevelt White House Press Corp or member of Congress on Dec 8, 1941 would have requested Roosevelt to give the dollar amount of the cost of WWII or the number of casualties it would take to win the war, or the aftermath costs of the war. Roosevelt would have had that person dragged off to an insane asylum and any member of Congress that would have asked the question would have been laughed off the floor. What kind of stupidity we contenance today.

Don't you suppose they want to avoid bombing Bahgdad at night and giving the news networks all those great pics? Much less photogenic in the daytime.
