HIX NIX DIX CHIX: Freep the Dixie Chicks
Iowahawk | 3/13/03 | Iowahawk

Posted on 03/13/2003 4:12:34 PM PST by IowaHawk

In case you haven't heard, Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks decided recently to blurt out a cheap applause line during a concert in London: "Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."

Now, everybody's entitled to their own opinion. Here's mine.

I have suffered through six months of hearing the idiot political ramblings of every dumb#ss with a card from the Screen Actor's Guild. Janeane Garafaolo, Mike Farrell, Sean Pean, Alec Baldwin and every other moron who croons, tapdances, juggles or plays make-believe for a living. This one, however, is the last straw. When this crap spreads to Country music - the one, singular, tiny niche of the entertainment industry in which conservatives might actually find a celebrity or two not openly contemptuous of their politics - it's time to put the economic foot down.

In this regard, I would like to dedicate this thread to teaching the Dixie Chicks two lessons: 1) Do Not Bite The Hand That Feeds You, and 2) Don't Mess With Red Country.

Please post links to local Country radio stations. Let's get the message out to programmers: take the Dixie Chicks out of your playlist rotation, or I am never listening to your station again.

Just called our local AM station and expressed my first admendment rights just like Nat. did. If that doesn't work, I will talk with the station manager at church on Sunday. He sings next to the wifey in the choir.

Don't do that. Them things make dang good coasters to set the beer on. Set'em on a can and hit em with a blow torch and ya can make a real pretty(large) reflector for a flash light( takes a little work). Put two together (covering the holes) and do the same and ya have a dang good ashtray or easy acess "bait" cup for when your fishing.( this can go with suggestion 1)hee hee!

They have totally bitten the hand that feeds them. What do they think? That New York City liberals like their music?

Well, I had a couple CDs of their music. But it didn't cost me a dime to download them. Note the word had in the first sentence. They're shattered now.

Another suggestion.
Instead of everybody busting up their Dixie Chicks, albums/CDs, sell them at yard sales, flea markets, ebay, etc. for whatever they can get and then send the proceeds to the Bush 2004 re-election campaign.
Then send a thank you note to these losers' website telling them how much they donated to his campaign.

I totally agree with you on Patsy Cline... the best female singer every.

Normally I hate Country Music. The only exception is Patsy Cline. She was INCREDIBLE. No other female singer could touch her in the singing category.
