In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
chimerical\ky-MER-ih-kuhl; -MIR-; kih-\, adjective:
1. Merely imaginary; produced by or as if by a wildly fanciful imagination; fantastic; improbable or unrealistic.
2. Given to or indulging in unrealistic fantasies or fantastic schemes.
Her name is Dulcinea; her country El Toboso, a village in La Mancha; her degree at least that of Princess, for she is my Queen and mistress; her beauty superhuman, for in her are realized all the impossible and chimerical attributes of beauty which poets give to their ladies. --Miguel De Cervantes, Don Quixote. Etymology: Chimerical is ultimately derived from Greek khimaira, "she-goat" or "chimera," which in Greek mythology was a monster having the head of a lion, the body of a goat, and the tail of a dragon.

Good morning everyone. Sorry to get political, but apparently finding long-range missles in Iraq and Saddam's refusal to destroy them hasn't convinced Germany, France and Russia that Saddam isn't really putting his whole heart and soul into compliance with UN 1441. Hello planet earth!!!!!
Good morning Miss Bella and all esteemed classmates......sorry, I guess it's too early to get surly. :)

Germany, France and Russia have apparently adopted a chimerical attitude toward Iraq.......it would be comical if the stakes weren't so high.

M & M, just checked and it has warmed up to a blazing 4 degress below zero as we speak. That's not factoring in any wind chill factor. I guess it's supposed to get cold later. :)

You have indeed bore the brunt of the winter weather this year, XS. It's sort of expected in the upper midwest, but your home area is getting a severe inundation of everything a rough winter has to offer.
Perhaps you should consider a vacation to the balmy midwest.
