Word For The Day, Tuesday, 2/25/03
2/25/03

Posted on 02/25/2003 12:14:47 AM PST by Bella_Bru

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

chimerical\ky-MER-ih-kuhl; -MIR-; kih-\, adjective:

1. Merely imaginary; produced by or as if by a wildly fanciful imagination; fantastic; improbable or unrealistic.
2. Given to or indulging in unrealistic fantasies or fantastic schemes.

Her name is Dulcinea; her country El Toboso, a village in La Mancha; her degree at least that of Princess, for she is my Queen and mistress; her beauty superhuman, for in her are realized all the impossible and chimerical attributes of beauty which poets give to their ladies.
--Miguel De Cervantes, Don Quixote.

Etymology: Chimerical is ultimately derived from Greek khimaira, "she-goat" or "chimera," which in Greek mythology was a monster having the head of a lion, the body of a goat, and the tail of a dragon.

Me, I got brain freeze big time.

"...these studies have been performed using largely high-energy primary beams; any characteristic trends may not necessarily be seen in the low-energy regime, in which kinetic electron emission is reduced and/or absent, and electronic excitation processes become dominant. In particular, potential emission is eliminated as an ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

o'reilly is a blowhard, brian doesn't take himself so seriously. he absolutely makes me LMAO on F&F in the AM. he and seanny had a mutual admiration session going on seanny's radio show. now there is a threesome that would spark some interest.... ; )

lauren green strikes me as more serious. juliet huddy is kind of bubble-brained. i like the way they give all of them a chance and mix and match them on there.

I heard Sean say he was going to have Brian on - but I missed the segment.

I hope I can stay awake long enough to see H&C tonight - it is very doubtable at this moment.

I agree with you. I really like Lauren Green. And I've always liked Kilmeade, am not sure why, just do.

Doin just fine. Ming's stayin' at her store again tonight (like last night) to avoid either of us drivin' her to work. (I could drive it, no biggie! She is always thinkin' about safety)...

Just leavin' that 4-letter "w" word right now.

(Hope supper's ready. Need to put change the curtain rods in the back bath too.)

Thanks for the concern, xs.

I was frozen in here at the house today and haven't even fired up the computer until late tonight. I'm sure this was nothing compared to the madness you had up there last week, but even with a couple of inches accumulation of sleet/ice on the roads it shuts things down here. The problem isn't all the Texans here who don't have a clue how to drive on it; the problem is all the transplanted yankees who THINK they know how to drive on it.

thought you might be housebound with the news of snow in Dallas. i asked you to please keep it away from my area, and it appears you ignored my plea, since there is something on the streets out there and a forecast for about 5 inches for Thurs. AM.: (
