Bon Jour~ Quotes

Andy Rooney in one of his 60 minute segments, where he was talking about being in France during WWII, commented that the French surrendered to the Germans in about 20 minutes.

France has neither winter nor summer nor morals. Apart from these drawbacks, it is a fine country. France has usually been governed by prostitutes.
---Mark Twain

I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me.
---General George S. Patton

Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without your accordion.
---Norman Schwartzkopf (I thought it was humblegunner?)

We can stand here like the French, or we can do something about it.
----Marge Simpson

As far as I'm concerned, war always means failure.
---Jacques Chirac, President of France
As far as France is concerned, you're right.
---Rush Limbaugh

The only time France wants us to go to war is when the German Army is sitting in Paris sipping coffee.
---Regis Philbin

The French are a smallish, monkey-looking bunch and not dressed any better, on average, than the citizens of Baltimore. True, you can sit outside in Paris and drink little cups of coffee, but why this is more stylish than sitting inside and drinking large glasses of whiskey I don't know.
---P.J O'Rourke (1989)

You know why the French don't want to bomb Saddam Hussein? Because he hates America, he loves mistresses, and he wears a beret. He is French, people.
---Conan O'Brien

I don't know why people are surprised that France won't help us get Saddam out of Iraq. After all, France wouldn't help us get the Germans out of France!
---Jay Leno

The last time the French asked for 'more proof' it came marching into Paris under a German flag.
--- David Letterman

Next time there's a war in Europe, the loser has to keep France.
---

Q: How many Frenchmen does it take to change a light bulb?
A: One. He holds the bulb and all of Europe revolves around him.

Whoa! Tickets to the flower show are pricey! $20 for adults at the door.

The Philadelphia Flower Show is hosted by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society; this not-for-profit organization is America's first horticultural society, producing the nation's first flower show in 1829. Its mission? To motivate people to improve the quality of life and create a sense of community through horticulture.

When it blooms:
March 2-9, 2003
Monday-Friday: 10am-9:30pm

The nation's largest indoor flower show blooms in Philadelphia every March at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. It features the country's premier landscape designers and florists, who turn 10 acres of the Convention Center into a floral fantasy world with exotic plants and eclectic designs. In addition to the major garden displays, the Philadelphia Flower Show hosts world-renowned competitions in horticulture and artistic arranging, hundreds of gardening lectures and demonstrations, special events, a mammoth indoor marketplace and a citywide Flower Show Week celebration throughout downtown Philadelphia.

For around here .. $20 is an average price they charge

When I was in High School I use to help out in getting our design ready for the Flower Show, but I have yet to go to the Flower Show .. driving in downtown Philly is not one of my favorite things to do

You can lead a whore to culture, but you can't make 'em think.

As Swervie might say..."pictures, we need pictures."

But if you don't, maybe you can borrow Valerie's "BUNS OF STEEL" video?

I just got a review of the new S&W 500 Magnum. The pistol is sized to also be built in .223 Remington/5.56mm NATO.
That will be a fun long range plinker, although it weighs almost as much as an M-16.

The gist of all of this is that even if you're on a diet, it's OK to "pig out" today on enchiladas, refried beans (frijoles), chili con queso, fajitas, and soapapillas.

That sounds pretty good Señor L...I'll be chewing on some lomo that I'll have to double check to make sure it doesn't have a shoe brand on it...send peeekchurs, feeelthy peeekchurs.

Somebody posted a link recently to that big dog and I was lusting, (but only in my heart).

I'm looking for a coyote rifle for when I go home this summer...was kind of interested in Ruger's .17 cal, center fire. The darn yippee dogs are hard to get close to after you shoot a couple of 'em. I was thinking this might reach out there rather quickly, but don't know if it would have enough punch to tip one over at any great distance.

Thoughts?

LOL!! Nice...they don't do anything swell like that down here...they do have a Carnival in Peru, but I think the religious types have spoilt it.

Dang those overly religious types.

For cost of ammo, the .223 is tough to beat, especially if you're not going to load your own rounds.

Do they have gift shops at the airport in Austin? I don't remember seeing any when I was there Sept 16 2001, but airports were barely open then anyway. Maybe they would sell some of my pics or cards..

That's a great marketing idea Valerie - I don't know what sorts of hoops you'd have to traverse, but it's a great thought.

Have you done any tee-shirt transfers? And have you registered ValerieLoop.com?
